Well that “restraint” only lasted 2 months I think this is a carbon copy of the one Keith used this week, only in Orange. Will take it for a spin tomorrow. Wasn’t completely sold on the acrylic until I held it. Enjoy your shave! Tom
Self control on not buying is not really in our strengths here on this thread, but two months is impressive restraint. Very nice razor.
Well two of my eBay razors came in today, The Dubl Duck and the Rigoletto. First the Dubl Duck is gorgeous the scales are perfect and I can still see they look white inside between the blade. If it wasn't for the slight loss of gold wash on the tang I would say it was NOS. The Rigoletto on the other hand may be NOS, I can see no sign of hone wear and the coloring on the tang is factory finish. Although I haven't shaved with it as of the time of this posting it does appear to be shave ready as stated in the listing.
Geneva Cutlery Co. Geneva, New York. U.S.A. This one is about the most tarnished razor I've seen. The pictures actually make it look better. It may be tarnished, but I see very very little pitting. Not a spot on this blade that isn't heavily tarnished. I have a Geneva Cutlery Razor, and know they are made well, so I rolled the dice. Project Razor
Strong Hackett Hardware Co. Saint Paul Minn. Diamond Steel This was bought as a project razor, but also, because I thought the blade looked in nice shape. One scale, and the wedge are salvageable. $9.50 total. Project Razor
Any pics of the blades??? What little I can see of the Dubl Duck looks like it might have some Cell Rot starting. I hope I am wrong. But, more pics would be telling.
I could not pass up the chance to buy this big Friodur. It is 8/8 and is great shape despite my pics. My only concern is will the blade flex given it is a big full hollow blade. I always wanted to try one of these.
I do not find Blade Flex to be an issue with mine .Its one of my best German blades .Hones easy .Takes a great smooth edge that lasts quite a while .
