September 11, 2018 Blackland Sabre L2 Gem PTFE SOC Mistura Taj Stirling R4L Soap And Aftershave I had a package from Stirling waiting for me when I arrived home yesterday. The R4L soap and aftershave set. The profits from the sale of the sets are going to responders4life. I love vetiver based scents and good causes so buying the set was a no brainer for me. As expected the soap was easy to load and lather with great performance expected from Stirling products. The real star of the show is the scent. The scent was inspired by Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. I don't have the scent so I can't compare. However, the vetiver is rounded out with citrus notes over a base of oakmoss. The overall effect is a very lively and fresh vetiver scent. This is easily one of the best vetiver based shaving scents I have encountered. My only suggestion would be to increase the scent strength of the soap and aftershave a notch or two.
Used my Executive Man soap and A/S this morning. I haven't used it in a while and forgot how much I liked it. EM is one of my favorite shaving scents, if not my favorite.
You'll find this interesting, John. During that same interview with Doc Ezlovan at the Maggard Meetup a few years ago(y'know, the one where he embarrassed me by saying, in effect, that the correct pronunciation of his last name is LUVin, not lowVAN), our good Doc said that the most popular of his fragrances was "Xecutive Man by FAR" After hearing that I thought I should try some of the others to get THEM popular, too(I mean, not that they aren't already). But Xecutive Man being a Creed and all, I'll probably end up trying that one, too(although I am waiting to see what other Creed dupes Doc Ezlovan has in mind).
Paul, I don't think that you will be sorry if you try some "Xecutive Man". IMO its great stuff. Doesn't "our good Doc" already have some "other Creed dupes" such as Sharp Dressed Man and Mountain Man (both of which I have samples of but haven't tried yet) and maybe others that I'm not aware of?
