    Williams (Modern) + Cremo (Cooling)
    Vulfix 2235 S badger brush
    Suribachi bowl and cool water
Schick type M at #6, Chick blade
    Osage Rub Invigorating Splash
SOTD 09112018 Williams Cremo Osage.gif Yeah, I messed with The Williams. Minimal fluff considering the issues inherent in the soap, and adding a non foaming creme didn't generate any extra bubbles. I did get a slick menthol lather of sorts. As much as don't use badger brushes, this one does have a good sized knot that delivered. Had to squeeze the stuff out of it for second and third pass but it's generally fan shaped and spreads product well. Guess my issues with badger knots is more the floppiness inhibiting loading from a hard soap. The Schick I picked up from the last TSD Raffle gave it's best shave yet. No nicks & DFS all over. It's not on my desert island list, but in my top 20. In keeping with the cooling lather I splashed on some O-Rub. Don't often use it by itself so I let it fly solo. Not too bad.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Great software combo, Perry! I used the same combo on Sunday myself. Do you get a tingle or light burn from the Lounge?
    Gentleman! You, sir, have arrived...
Glad to hear the new soap is a winner, Clint! I hope the roofing contractor is reasonable.
Amazing photo, Jim! Sounds like that Vanta is really dialed in.
Great shave, and happy hunting at Winners, John!
Great write up again, Joseph. I love both my NEWs, but agree with you that I also prefer my LC a little more.
Do you have other badgers, Rick? The Vulfix seems to be known as being quite floppy. Great photo, btw!
Enjoy your time at home, Brian. Great start with the Blood on Steel.

    Shave Fu out...

Thank you Jason. Let’s just say the roofer came in a little less than I thought. Not much less though.

Good Advice gents. I've already been doing the skin stretching to the side but it's still difficult even with that. Just hard to get the razor angle right in that area. I'll have to keep experimenting a bit.

To those of you in the path of Hurricane Florence like myself, Please stay safe and be prepared. It looks like it may get pretty rough. :scared011:

Thanks, Jason! The photo was a "less is more" idea.

I do have a couple badgers. None of the 2 bills type. Knowing I'm prejudiced by my first couple Omega boars I'm just not willing to invest in a high end badger. Both my Vulfix's are ok with a cream SS. A Whipped Dog High Mountain in the B-400 & VS black badger in the cashew shaped SP→2 serve better with their denser knots. I took a chance on a Caswell-Massey travel sized pure badger in a lot from a thrift store. It's a small handle, small knot, and short lofted but it's dense enough to give an idea what premium knots must feel like.

    Thanks Jim!

I've taken no pain pills so far today (compared to taking two per day since Friday), and my Bride and I took our longest walk so far this morning. We'll be taking another couple of walks this afternoon and evening. I have infrequent dull side pain (not bad) and minor shortness of breath that I figure will hang with me for awhile. I'm down almost 22 lbs as of this morning, and I know that's helping me right now.

It will be interesting going forward to see how I tolerate blade shaving while I'm on the blood thinner. I try to be careful, but I did notice a dried red spot on my neck a couple hours after my shave this morning. It's common for people on blood thinners to use electric razors, but I'll stick with my blades and keep my alum bar handy to control any minor bleeding. I don't think it will be a problem.

Have a great day, my friend.

@COMPNOR generously PIF'd some of the Dr. Jon's Cold War soaps to me, and they arrived today. It would be rude not to try at least one out of the three he shipped, so I did the right thing and checked one out!

A clean, close and comfortable shave. The only irritation is left over from a previous shave! The soap was nice and slick, provided nice cushion and had a unique (yet pleasing) scent!

    Enjoy your shaves gents!

You, sir, are correct! When the first episode of season 6 starts it really stands out. Especially when watching like I am. Then to see that the courthouse railings and walls are a strange green. Makes it strange for a bit. I'll look for the Coors truck when that episode rolls around. Yes, having Coors east of the big muddy was strictly forbidden. Which means people on the eastern end of the country clearly had much better taste in beer than the rest of us.
