  1. Screwtape

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Thursday morning September 13 - SE "simply easy" comfort shaving

Supply Co. v.2 Single Edge injector on plate#2 / Personna (unknown #)
Supply Co. silvertip fibre synthetic brush
Red Green Duct Tape Special frankensoap (mixture of soft Italian almond soaps)
    Supply Co. Lost Provence balm

This frankensoap is my benchmark for soap performance. I can use any brush on it while half asleep and paying no attention, and come up with a perfect lather every time. And the lather will be slick and protective, with great postshave skin feel. Today was no exception. With that lather as a foundation, the injector took two quick passes to bring me to a DFS with no irritation. I didn't bother testing with the alum because there was no need. The balm provided a great scent to finish off an easy shave.

Hope the week is going well for everyone.

Thank you, Clint! I found it through a thread I had posted asking for Bay Rum AS recommendations a while back. I enjoyed it a bit more at first since it was new and different, but I have since found it isn't quite my favorite.

    SEptember 13th
    Schick E2 w Personna (1)
    TGN Finest / Maple
    Stirling Gin & Tonic SS
    Thayers
    Elvado mint/lime ASB

Got home late last night and didn’t take the time for a photo. Had an early morning shave with the new to me E2 rescued from the wild last month. Cleaned it up, loaded a Personna and had 3 passes. I know that this razor had a bit of a reputation for being aggressive, and it certainly is a little noisier and perhaps a touch rougher than my E3 or G, but it isn’t as nearly as aggressive to me as an Injectomatic. It has only been one day, though.
I am quite close, and had one super small weeper. A good start with it, I think.
    Have a great day all!

No idea. I’ll look tonight when I’m home. Are there E2 variations? I assumed it is a 2 based on the lack of grooves on the bar.
I’ll have pics for tomorrow’s sotd as well.

Thank you, Andrew! I wish you hadn't mentioned that to me, because I would honestly consider it. I really like the Hawk as it is an easy shaving razor.

I echo your thoughts on the Port au Prince, Jim. Awesome performance as always, but jut not my favourite scent.

There are a few versions of the E2. The early versions that open for cleaning are the more aggressive, about on par with the Injecto-Matic. The later versions that don't open are just a tad more aggressive then the E3.

High praise on the cream indeed, Clint. As you have a full barber’s sack of it, I wouldn’t think you’ll have to buy that replacement anytime soon...

Cella red tub, Vitos red label, Vitos green label, and Valobra soft almond soap in roughly equal amounts plus a little sampler of 3P for seasoning. When I tested the soaps back-to-back, I found I couldn’t detect much difference between them anyway, so I just combined them all together into one giant tub.
