That is a stunning razor, Brian! The AS pairs nicely, at least as far as the color is concerned.

I found that not only did I have enough time for a full shower this morning(pre-colonoscopy), there was also enough time for a shave :).It was Rise Super Foam with Mennen Skin Bracer.

Another good, close shave with this familiar setup. I braved an ATG pass on my cheeks today... Yes it is marginally smoother, but I can feel a little burning even after the ASB. Probably won't be bother with that again - XTG does just fine.

One area that I am keen to get closer is my upper neck and jawline. The hair grows from chin to ear and pretty much follows this pattern on most of my neck. Does anyone else have this growth pattern, and if so, how do you shave it?

    Enjoy your shaves gents!

    jluc smelling pretty

The hair along my right jawline grows like yours. I pull the skin up to give me a flat surface to do my atg pass. The hair on my neck is somewhat similar to yours. I do a diagonal south to north first pass then a diagonal north to south second pass, both with skin stretching. Every now and then I'll try a try an atg pass on my neck ( ear to adams apple) with mixed results.
    Good luck!

I think you're right. The cream should last a little while.

The Supply Co V2 seems to really work well for you. Did you have a V1 before? I hope you are having a good week as well.

Good shave Jason. Bet you are glad to be home.

The hair on my neck is similar. I use diagonal passes on my neck with the skin stretched tight.

Angle/pressure applies to all types of razors, obviously, and shavettes and other straight variants allow the widest possible angles, obviously. People can usually lean on the design of the razor as they start out, guards, caps, etc. but not with a straight. Guards aren't a part of that world. Learning on a shavette is not the easiest thing to do, but once you master the angle you'll be off and running. Hang in there! You're doing great!

September 13 - DARE NIGHT Part 1 - Pre-Dare warm up head shave!

    Razor - CJB Greager
    Blade - artist-club-small-professional-blades.jpg (1)
    Soap - VDH Deluxe
    Brush - VDH Boar

Tonight I try a full blown kamisori style razor for the main event - but for the warm up event to the dare from @Drygulch I'm going with a pain stick head shave. Not a new practice for me as I've done it a few times, but it's still a fairly daunting shave at times. And, it goes well with the kamisori shave to follow in a bit as these razors are related to each other at least in basic style. I owe my use of, and appreciation of, the pain sticks to @Keithmax who PIF'd my first one to me back in 2015, I do believe. It was a CJB, the Korean clone of the Feather DX. It was a scary thing to use that first month when I went Rule with it, but I learned to really appreciate the Artist Club razors. Keith sent along some Feather Pro blades with the CJB to help get things started.

This particular head shave features the second generation CJB. (I was going to use my Kai but decided to go back to my roots instead). The original suffered a broken spring, as that version often did. The Greager is the same style, same razor, really, with the Feather type spring instead of the original CJB. Much more durable. It provides the same design on the head as the DX instead of the Feather SS which has the lip at the edge to supposedly make it safer. I used a Feather Pro as I have more than enough of these thanks again to Keith, who brought me 60 of them at the meet-up. I won't run out of pain stick blades for a very long time.

The final "Keith touch" is the picture in front of the screen he presented to me and the rest of the meet up crew. Thanks, Keith, for your original gift of the CJB, the blades, and the support and cheers as I mastered a very difficult razor style. Couldn't have done it without you.

The soap and brush for my head shave was the usual. El-cheapo VDH Boar brush with their Deluxe soap. Nothing fancy, but the lather was slick, cushy, and the shave came off with no blood or other issues. Fine head shave indeed. Again, I highly recommend the pain sticks to anyone who wants to have some fun. And the pain stick head shaves to the bold!

Coming up in a couple of hours - the MAIN EVENT! Place your bets on the results while there's still time!

Head shave with a CJB, :smiley respect: the Korean branch of the cartel approves.

I prefer the Feather Pro to Kai Captain blades and the Feather DX (CJB) style the Feather SS razor. Enjoy the blades and thanks for the shout out.

I don’t believe this opens- or am I missing something? Your description makes sense, Andrew- as I wouldn’t call this miles different than an E3:

I'm afraid it didn't. They couldn't do it....poor prep on my part. I may be in for some "prep revolutionizing" down the road.

That's definitely no fun. The prep is terrible for those things.
