3rd shave with the MMOC/OCMM (sorry Fuzzy @wchnu ). Even less blood with this shave - one TINY weeper on the right hand side of my neck. I have ended up with a really nice shave! The only downside is that I have got a little burning on the go. I know why this is though... I caught myself at various point of the shave using too much pressure, not stretching the skin enough, and not running the head of the razor flat to my face. Safe to say that this razor is going to take some time to get effortlessly comfortable shaves, but I really believe that it will be possible!

James, just over a month ago you were having issues shaving with a 34c and now your tackling an MMOC. Congrats on the progress!

 

Yeah... Not exactly sure it's the most logical progression...

When you have mastered the MMOC the Ever Ready 1912 will be a piece of cake. For that matter the Schick G will be pretty easy too.

Using a more "normal" sized brush albeit untested except for ARKO defunking, I got the DVH to lather up. Steve @Vlasta commissioned the badgers knots as I understand, so they may be similar to but not directly comparable to other suppliers. Good density and flow and with the loft set as deep as possible in the removable ferrule - not floppy! The snap tight soap tub lid did well holding in moisture from the previous use. No preparatory blooming was used in the making of today's lather. Much thicker, no dissapation, and all the glide needed for the shave. Schick's high end injector model with the easy cleaning head has a little slack some where in the monkey motions. I can hear it when I have it open to rinse, and just slightly when closed. Gripping the head reveals a slight wiggle so it might be between the metal and plastic handle. Still I get a fine reduction with the unit. Three passes, a little buffing and partial 4th pass left me thinking might be time for a fresh Chick blade. I'm smooth but for some lower neck stubble that costs irritation if I chase it.

That was actually my thought process... Most difficult razor first! I'm really having to dial in my technique to not destroy my face, so that should really help for the other two!
I'm really excited to try the Schick!

The soap sample is starting to show holes, so it may approach the finish sometime this week. Two passes brought me an error-free BBS. The balm provided good skin conditioning along with a morning coffee smell.

I've been shaving a lot with a Weishi butterfly, though I couldn't take it an longer. It's so mild that it takes forever. So, I broke out my Rockwell 6c, used the #4 plate and a 7 o'clock. Two passes and a couple of minor touch ups and I was ready to go.

I took some peoples advice after my last post and lowered the angle of my blade on my face. It was good advice because I had been shaving at way too high of an angle. This was my first shave where I didn't nick myself so I'm pretty pumped. Thanks for all the help everyone!

The scent of Felce Aromatica is intoxicating. While the container looks good, it is only painted aluminum and will scratch or chip very easy. I will not pay extra for the container next time.

Great photo Andrew. I buy the bulk pack of Gem blades and have found several that have a rough edge. As a practice I strop one time on each side to feel if the blade is rough. If it is I palm strop the blade until the roughness is gone.
