I like the mixed knot a lot.
I didn't know that there was more than one version of the mixed. More research is needed.

Great combination, Perry :). I might pull out the Jeeves/TSD Bay Rum combo for a couple of mid 60's days this week.

That's a beautiful razor, Randy! @Pete123 did a great job on those scales! I don't use straight razors myself (I'm trying to get rid of my Thiers Issard SR now) but those pictures almost make me wish I did...

Tobacco Tuesday...4th day with the E2. A bit rushed earlier this morning, but had a decent 2 pass shave. I definitely get a sizable tingle from The Lounge, but not enough that I would pass it on. Finishing with the Jeeves is always a good idea.
    Have a great day all!

I never had the pocket protector, just a slide rule. As for getting women by having mad nerd skills, I always found that to be pure fantasy. The only exception was possibly a small window in the mid-1990s where the women I knew in my online communities were happy to have someone who could help them move from AOL dialup to a real dialup Internet connection.

Great pics of some neat gear, Brian, but it may be time to clean the top of that Old Type...just saying.:)
Yup, great minds. It might have been truly creepy if I pulled out the 66 as well. Took the pic last night, but you beat me to the post...you're a few time zones ahead!
    Gentleman!
I've not used a scuttle before, Jim, but I have definitely used that soap with bowls and different brushes without an issue. Others who have commented about the heat may have a good point.
Lovely combo, Clint. I half expected that MdC to be your new Sunday soap when the Nuavia gave it up.
Fantastic, Jim! At some point, we may have to ask you to rank your PAA scents...
Sounds like a good product, Randy. Congrats on the great work with straights as well.

I haven't necessarily found that myself, Joseph. I do both- face and bowl lather- as the mood (or product, or locale...) strikes, and can get quite a thick, yogurty lather from a bowl as well. There are products that I flat out think perform better in a bowl (Reserve soaps come to mind), and others that are better right on the face (Fine soaps, et al, for whatever reason) Much like Rick, I find it very easy to control the consistency in a bowl. I also echo Rick in that I load the crap out of product in a bowl. Efficient? Not really. Wasteful? Perhaps. Luxurious lather? Yup.

I can blame Jim for the brush. His pictures finally pushed me over the edge. I have the cheaper version of the mixed knot. I decided to order mine from Bullgoose since there was not a big difference in price on the day I ordered.

If you are enjoying your SOC boar, you will like the mixed knot. The tips are not silvertip soft but no where near DO1 two band level. The backbone is excellent. The knot did have that annoying boar habit of eating lather when not broken-in. With more uses the brush is turning into a lather making machine. I find the handle to be excellent with a good solid feel and ergonomics. The handle and the mixed knot together bat well above the $65 price point.

    RyX DoH!

That was a pivotal point in many in many early adopters. WIN95 for a GUI, and dropping AOL. Not having to consult the cheat sheet of DOS commands and clicking on icons! I found AOL was like looking at the world through a key hole. There was cool stuff out there, but the AOL mini-mall was as far as most users got.

Jim @jluc - When Keith @Keithmax gets back home, ask him about his "breaking lathers in a hot scuttle" Focus. He pushed the limits with temperature ranges and a variety of soaps.
