Good shave but did end up with one minor cut and some irritation. Did the proper prep with a hot towel this time around. The blade is still quite smooth. I suspect the irritation was because I was using the razor without reapplying the cream in those areas when trying to do cleanup. An old habit from my cart days where the little strip let you do that without too much irritation. I've gotten much better at making lather. I almost had too much lather this time. In the areas where I'm having trouble I realized that the angle of the razor had changed when I was shaving those areas. I'll have to be more careful to keep the angle correct. It's really easy to default back to my cartridge days where the angle just adjusted automatically for you.

Thank you Jason. With this new consulting contract I can’t wait until the morning to post in all the threads. So I decided to post everything but the 30dc the night before.

I’m not into straights and I’m afraid i would spend a lot of money in PRC.

Never got that from Mike's. I get it from the old Stirling soaps though. Dead animal fat, you know...;)

I don't want to encourage you to shave where there is no lather, but if your soap is really slick, you SHOULD be able to make a light clean-up stroke---assuming your touch is still delicate.

    Micromatic Open Comb Day #5

    Razor: GEM MMOC
    Blade: GEM Stainless (5th use)
    Brush: Bluebeard Doubloon
    Soap: TOBS Peppermint
    Post Shave: Nivea Sensitive

Might have over-hydrated my lather a touch, but still had a wonderful 2 pass shave with the usual WTG/XTG combo. The problems came when I started my touch-up buffing and j-hooking on my jaw - I felt the blade begin to drag and tug. In my infinite wisdom I continued my touch-up pass with the spent blade, and I actually managed to achieve a DFS at the cost of a little irritation on my jawline.
I think that for the time being, 4 shaves and out will be a good rule for me. This razor still continues to amaze me with the closeness of the shave... It's really not that bad/scary once you get a handle on it (coming from a guy who came to it from a Tech)!

    Enjoy your shaves gents.
