Great shave. What do you think of Wood and Spice scent?

    A Stirling SEptember

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna Ultra Chrome
    Razor: Schick M1 injector
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
    Soap: Stirling Dunshire
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dunshire aftershave

Nice and easy shave with Stirling Dunshire soap and the Schick M1 adjustable. Smooth and comfortable all around. Outstanding lather and big Kong brush face lathered it into beautiful stuff. Easy to swipe away with the razor and a nice finish from the aftershave. Can't ask for much else!

    Have a great day!

It took me a long time to break my cart habits. Many, many years of using pressure to shave - and, like you said, not watching angle. Going over areas without re-lathering can also cause issues. That's a bad habit I still have. Sometimes you get away with it...sometimes not.
There's no such thing as too much lather! Especially once your soap stash begins to grow and grow. It's been said many times in this thread; load it like you hate it. :)
You're making great progress, and understanding what didn't go "quite right", and why. Nice work!

Thank you, fellas! It's quite a project, especially when you know just enough to make you dangerous. :)

Great B&W photo Perry. I never realized how many Stirling soaps you had in the den. Quite a collection.

Another great B&W photo Jim. Hope you have a great day.

Another busy day ahead but at least I was able to get in a great shave this morning. Two passes and touch ups ended with a near perfect shave. My lower right neck, aks "My Nemesis", prevented me from catching the baby. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Great picture. You're getting a lot of use from your SOC. I think I'll start OCtober with mine and use it for at least half the month.

Thank you, Clint! I've used some for the second time this month. The Stirling soaps work really well for me.

After listing my SOTD for today, I decided to call an audible at my sink of scrimmage, and brought out a Dorco#4 razor. Interestingly, I discovered that going A(gainst)TG with that is better for me than WTG(the same way I feel about the Sensor Deuce DisposeABLE). I'll use the Dorco for a couple more shaves, now that it's out. I know I've been using the DisposeABLE(Gillette)mostly, but I do want to keep the other razors around.

Thank you Jim. I plan to use the SOC through most of next week. It should be fully broken in by then.

    Razor: Schick Stick (L2) Injector
Blade: Japanese Schick Twin Injector (1)
    Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
    Soap: Williams
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I've been a bit distracted with work, so I'm a bit behind on reports. The last two days have basically been the same setup as today except for the razor and blade. Tuesday was another shave with the L7 Championship Injector and the vintage Personna Twin blade. Yesterday was with an early J1 and a Japanese Twin. I wasn't quite as happy with yesterday's shave so I decided to start over today with a fresh Japanese Twin and my other L-type, an L2 Stick Shift.

I think there is a slight difference in feel between the vintage Personna and modern Japanese Schick Twin blades with my preference leaning initially toward the Personnas. Not that the Schick is a bad experience in any way, however. The result was the same great shave that I've come to expect from a twin Injector.

Sounds like a good move. To be honest, I suspect that a lot of people would be just as well served by a Chromebook as a full Windows laptop. It's all a matter of usage. Out of curiosity, what one did you end up getting?

    Schick E2 w Personna (6)

    Elvado Mint&Lime Balm

Day 6 with the E2 and Personna blade. Another good shave this morning- 3 passes and I am quite smooth. The Gin and Tonic is a fine Stirling product and the WD knot did what it should. The Elvado is a fine balm, not the best, not the worst.
After 6 days with the E2, I’m ready to move on to other SEs. Next up will be the E3 for a day or two as comparison.
    Have a great day all!
