Well done on the 9 months without buying, Paul. And I think even better done to decide to go ahead and buy despite your arbitrarily self- imposed NB'18 when your favourite maker announced it was closing shop and you could either get your planned resupply right now or else never get it at all.

Great set up, Rick! Glad to hear you rocked it at the Open House. We were at our kids' open house (they are grade 5&6) on Tuesday. I already feel like the 'old dad' somedays, and it hit home Tuesday as I saw a majority of the (what I assume) grade one and two dads wearing either snap back hats, hipster beards or skateboarding shoes. Yup, I'm old.

I think I need some Personna injector blades from there as well, Clint. I'll try to finish a soap or two off first as well.
I don't have a soap that I consider a true Fougere in the den. Does Sharp Dressed Man (GIT) count? I didn't really even think I wanted one until I got a SV Felce Aromatica bar soap and absolutely loved it. I was in a NB and not worrying about it, but now that my bubble burst on that front I'm wanting one. Looked at the SV for sure, and the Valobra, the Wickhams Irish Fern (also at Connaught) and the B&M Reserve Fern, which is at least in a base I know I love.
How would you rank the Fougere scents you have? Any other must haves? One caveat- I'd buck up for SV, but the MdC doesn't hold my interest at that price.

Glad to hear the new splash is a winner, Jim. The bottle is certainly one of the coolest around.
Wow, those custom scales are awesome, Randy! Congrats on your great progress as well.
Sounds like that near Unobtanium was worth it, Joseph. The soap dish looks really classy as well.

I did not like the Wickhams soap base at all. The SV is just over the top fabulous. Maybe buy it without the tin and the Valobra.

    SOTD Stirling September 21st

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    RazoRock Game Changer .84mm
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless(2)
Yaqi Red Marble Tuxedo (28mm, Destroyer Class)
    Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood
    Drydock Lather Bowl
Jeeves of Hudson Street 'Blood on Steel'

Shave #2 with the .84mm Game Changer, smooth as silk. This razor is in a class right along side my Above the Tie and Rex Ambassador. It is very efficient, but doesn't in an way feel harsh. I fact I don't think there is any noticeable difference in blade feel between the original .68mm base plate and the new .84mm. The results however are much closer at the end of each pass. Absolutely incredible lather from the Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood this morning and I must say this month of Stirling is really spoiling me! Three passes for a faceturbating smooth shave! Jeeves Blood on Steel for a superbly good smelling finish! Have a great weekend my friends!

    RyX DoH!

I defy classification. I was wearing a short sleeve Dickies style button down collared shirt, Tony Hawk skater cargo shorts, and New Balance 608 cross trainer shoes all in gray, with my Kangol 504 light blue cap. Despite living in an urban area my belt held up my pants so no boxers were visible.
G-daughters got to choose their other-than-uniform clothing. Jenisis chose one of her Disney Princess dresses in sequins and pink. Melody picked from my closet a violent green and blue tie dyed tee shirt, tied at the hip, and pink shorts.

On the agenda - Grandparents Lunch Day! I think they are serving nachos with fruit juice.

Thanks.....were it not for Local Gent closing, who is to say how much longer I'd have gone? But I really wanted their Tobacco Lounge. Couldn't let that baby go.

That's so neat when kids wear tee-shirts or sweatshirts with messages on them :). My dad got me a Harvard Law School sweatshirt to wear when I was probably Logan's age. What did I know about Law School then?

    Alum and Lucky Tiger

Great shave today! The soap was slick with that wonderful lanolin postshave feel. The brush felt like a good badger as it spread the lather. The blade was still sharp and smooth on its 9th outing. And two passes with a partial third touchup pass on the underside of my jaw (relathered) brought the baby at least into the front porch. Afterwards Mr. Alum didn't have a word to say. The Lucky Tiger wasn't really necessary but I splashed it on to complete the ritual.

I should get a photo posted at least of my new brush but the electronics problems bothering some other members of the Crew seem to be infesting me too. My nearly new Kindle ebook reader just croaked on me, and my BlackBerry PlayBook died without warning a day ago. And then, after I had finished researching tablets to replace both it and the Kindle, it just as unexpectedly revived yesterday. Sort of. The camera doesn't always work, and even when it does, the PlayBook won't post photos from my album on it to this forum. The battery is iffy. And the port to connect the PlayBook to my desktop PC to transfer content seems to be stone cold dead.

I am thinking either an Amazon Fire 8 tablet to do what the Kindle and PlayBook do now (ebooks, email and. Surf the web, especially TSD). Or maybe join Neal in getting a Chromebook now that I have learned about them here. The Chromebook is a bit bigger and heavier and costs about twice as much (still pretty cheap) but would have a larger screen and could do documents too. Which, I suppose, would mean I could more believably write it off as a business expense... Suggestions?

    Thanks Paul!
Thanks Jason! It definitely competes with razors costing 3-4x as much!
Thank you, Perry! This scent is full size tub worthy for me!

Any other thoughts from the 30 Day Crew on favourite Fougeres?
