    Fine Lavender Pour Homme~~Rubberset 400/3~~'56 Gillette Super-Speed~~Personna 74 (4)

Focus Gear...3 guesses and the first two don't count.
There are quite a few good "bargains" in wet shaving. Many of us take advantage of them, some turn their noses up at "cheap" products.

Fine soaps, IMO, belong to that group. A good bargain with better-than-good quality.
I don't own the entire Fine line of shave products. The Lavender and American Blend, I do.
The soap is a hard soap, but with the proper preparation, i.e. "blooming", it is easy to load.
The lavender is pungent, ethereal and pleasant.

Slickness is excellent and certainly on par with far more expensive soaps.
To apply this soap, I broke out the ORIGINAL and oft-copied Rubberset 400.
Unfortunately, it does not have the original boar knot, but the Omega Pro is an altogether satisfactory ersatz.
I especially like that it can load from a smallish container, which the Fine is.
I picked my B4 Super-Speed (birth year) and continued with the Personna 74.
I am always amazed how we can run a razor-sharp (pun unavoidable) object over our skin and not feel a thing!
    That was the case today.
    3 pass BBS.
Splashed on a healthy dose of the AS and am now irresistibly smooth and smelling better than 99.9% of the human race.

Seriously, Joseph, how do you get your razors to shine like that? I have some vintages that are in pretty fine shape, but I can’t get them to look like that. Trade secret? Replated? Elbow grease?

Wow! What a beautiful set up this morning! I have a couple of the Fine aftershaves, and I really enjoy using them. Lavender is my favorite scent, so I may have to consider this one at some point. Your Super Speed is a beauty. I may get mine out after this current run with the Mongoose.

Sounds like a nice day, Clint. I take it Dillard is one of those towns that have become an antique store destination? Enjoy.

Very cool scales, Brian. Some nice new Portland stuff as well. Have fun at home with friends!

Very nice, Neal. Did you use the vintage injector blades that are in the case, or did you use modern Chicks a la your blade pic? I’ve got a vintage black injector cartridge like that one, but haven’t used it yet.

    Razor: Ever-Ready SE w/case 2 Blade Banks
    Blade: Personna GEM
Brush: El Druida Mopane 2 Band Badger.
    Soap: Stirling Cool
    A/S: Stirling Eucalyptus Mint

Another outstanding shave. The Ever-Ready performed perfectly, while the soap, brush, and aftershave worked to perfection.
    No doubt a BBS shave.

Congrats on the house build so far, Charlie. How exciting to plan things exactly how you want them.
As well, what a very nice, simple photo that shows off that beaut of a razor.

Great shot, Doug. Stirling Cool? I can tell that it is a little older by the label. Was it a dupe of something? An original scent? Renamed something else now?

It looks like I’m off to the store for a new sports coat. I have a business meeting next week that requires one and all I can find is my formal suit. And I thought I was unpacked

    Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap
    Elk Antler Badger Brush
    Heart Columbia JWest Razor
St. Johns Bay Rum After Shave

I’m laughing, but crying inside. Got my hair cut a few weeks ago and the 20 something who cut it gave me the seniors discount. Gave the difference back to her as a tip. I’m 49. My wife thought it was hilarious.
