    Good morning!

Fine two pass shave to start the day. DFS. I did nick my adams apple. I attribute that to too much coffee before my shave. My hand isn't the steadiest after a lot of caffeine. My left hand is even worse so I don't even attempt using it after drinking coffee.

I really like these Personna blades. I believe these are the ones referred to as Israeli Reds. Smooth and sharp.

    Have a great day![IMG]

Last shave of with the OneBlade for SEptember. Two passes and touch ups just missed the baby. Honestly the Gem blade with 7 shaves is just about toasted. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver and I am off for another busy day. Off to visit Mom, take her to lunch and run her errands. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Thank you, Clint. I start each day with coffee. During the work week I prep my coffee before bed so it's ready to fill my travel mug when I leave the house. On the weekend making coffee is my first task of the day.
Wow, Clint. Excellent picture. Have a great day with your mom.

Let's start with the "not so good" today.
Krampert's Finest Acadian Bay Rum soap. :signs002:
Any soap, no matter how much or little it costs that even makes my skin tingle an iota gets

    :rolleyes005:"two thumbs down":rolleyes005:
You have probably figured out that this Bay Rum, before I even lather, makes my skin tingle.
    What did Primo just say??
Even the "bloom" water starts the irritation. That's what I mean.
    Now on to the good.
Paladin brushes were a "fad" for me. I was in on the drops and at one time owned 4.
I have since sold 2 and kept this and a 28mm Chief.
Ken's handles are some of the best in the business.

The fan knot of the Paladin is very nice, dense, slightly scrubby, yet pleasant.
The handle is one of my favorites for its superb ergonomics.
For sheer beauty, no other razor in my den comes close to the '38 Senator.
There's something about these old OC TTO's that I find amazingly attractive.
The fact that it also is easy to wield and shaves like a dream is just icing on the cake.
    3 Pass BBS, no drama.
The Krampert's AS is witch hazel based, so there is zero sting.
Scent is very nice. I wish the soap was as pleasing. Definite no re-purchase.

Great photo, Joseph. Beautiful brush and razor. Too bad the soap irritated your skin.

I shaved yesterday with Stirling Sharp Dressed Man soap and splash, Zenith boar brush, and Schick J1 injector. Nice and smooth shave but no time for a photo. This week has been a blur. The full moon syndrome kicked in and teenager drama was in full swing this week! One thing after another came down the pipeline. Interesting how it pours when it rains. In any event, we pulled it together enough yesterday to earn all superior ratings at our contest. Our dance line won the class with the highest score, so yesterday was a successful day. But leading up to it was pretty rough. Hoping things calm down today and we start next week fresh.

Teenagers can certainly be something! But I love what I do and have to keep perspective. All things will pass in time.

I've enjoyed following along the past few days. I'll be back to posting regularly tomorrow morning.

Real pleased with my second go-round with British Racing Green soap(Deluxe Shaving Co.). The website shows that most of the soaps are currently sold out. I do hope some, if not all, get back on board when I finish this one.

Ok, so I kind of broke my Micromatic focus... I broke out the Ever Ready 1912 that Uncle Screwtape @Screwtape sent me.

    Razor: Ever Ready 1912
    Blade: GEM Stainless (2nd use)
    Brush: Bluebeard Doubloon
    Soap: TOBS Peppermint
    Post Shave: Nivea Sensitive
    COLD WATER SHAVE

I've quite possibly had the best shave of my life. My wife commented on how smooth my face was... BBS on cheeks, chin and jawline. Under my nose was more of a challenge! I do feel as though I rushed the shave a little bit, and as a result have ended up with a touch of razor burn. This was purely as a result of my lack of respect for the razor... It has little to no blade feel, compared to the Micromatic. It does however deliver excellently close shaves. I'll be back with the Micromatic tomorrow though - manly stuff that razor! I've read about people shimming a 1912 with half of the spine from an old GEM blade... I'm not sure these razors need any modification!

Oh, and for the first time (facilitated by the cold water), I shaved with my glasses on! Perhaps a reason for the better results?

    Enjoy your shaves gents!

Thanks, Jim! I'm hoping so, too. We do not have a game this Friday as it is our bye week, so that will help. Everyone won't be spending so much time with each other this week. :) Plus, that allows me to take a day off on Friday!
