Wow. Sorry about the rough shave. At least you get to try it again the next time.

I've calmed down a little now... Even if my skin hasn't.
There's always tomorrow (which will need to be the case even if my skin is not ready - my beard grows so damned fast)!

Yeah, it might have been that the shave pattern conflicted with the direction of your beard growth OR it could have been a bad blade. Or even a combo. Best to go back to what you know works AND bin that blade.

One other thing, come to think of it -- with the 1912, ALWAYS check the blade seating each day before you start shaving. The blade rests on two tiny blade stops and is just held in place by light spring tension from the cap - not a locked down cap like on the MMOC. I picked up my 1912 once after it had been sitting in the rack for a few days and shaved without checking it. The cap must have been jarred because blade had somehow managed to slip so one corner was sitting out past the blade stop. By the time I noticed, I had some neat parallel gouges down my cheek. Fortunately they healed without leaving permanent scars. Otherwise I would now look like I had attended one of those German universities with the old-fashioned Schlager (saber) duelling societies...

First time with the Myrsol. Very nice floral/citrus scent. What does it remind me of???????
Easy to lather. Softish consistency. Very soft indeed.
    Scent seems familiar......
The Rooney is a nice brush. The Butterscotch handle is easy to hold and attractive. The Two-Band is labeled

"Super-Badger", which can be synonymous with "Silvertip". Really a moot point. because it's a terrific
fan knot and it matters not to me what you call it.
    Back to the '11 R41 with a Personna 74 (shave 5).
Blade exposure is extreme, so one must find the angle and STICK TO IT!
Missteps are rewarded with blood. None in my case today. :)
The scent is overwhelming...I know what this is...
    3 pass BBS without irritation.
    Eureka.
I recognized the scent and called an audible.
YSL Pour Homme. Oh yeah. That's the ticket.
    Xanadu.

I had a hectic morning today. Our visiting friends left, I did some household chores, some work emails, and showered and shaved. Then I rushed to the airport only to have a delayed flight. Yet another afternoon sitting in an airport
I forgot to take a picture this morning. Imagine the following:

    Proraso Sandalwood Cream
    Elk Antler Badger Brush
    Bismarck #2 Razor
    Fine Santal Absolut After Shave

Have a great day! Here I come Phoenix

Awesome shave this morning, Gentlemen. Custom Bismarck, SOC Badger/Boar, TOBS and GD preshave. BBS from the jawline up AND about an inch below the jawline. Alum stretching assisted, by the way. Still trying to crack the code of the rest of the neck, but getting closer. Cheers!

@Paul Turner, you recently asked me about the use of therapy dogs at the children's hospital where my Bride and I volunteer. This is Obie. He's 2 1/2 years old. He has served as a therapy dog in the prison system, and he will soon be approved to serve at the children's hospital. He belongs to a young friend who already volunteers at the hospital. He's a sweet dog, and I know the kids and their families will love him.
