The Ascension and SLOC have nothing in common other than both being smooth and relatively efficient shavers.
The PAA is as efficient as the SLOC, but feels better. Biggest difference between it and the first PAA DOC is that you can somewhat adjust it, and weight of course.
DOC is quantifiably Tech mild. Really large radius geometry. Good razor, albeit with a narrow angle sweet spot, but quite efficient when the attack angle is correct.
You know you like the Williams! At least I didn't ADD something to it to help it or anything like some people do...

I'm incredibly impressed with the balance of efficiency and smoothness. I'll be buying the SS if I can.
Douglas Smythe seemed to indicated on that post that they may be adding both versions to full production. So depending on the supply (big explanation on that) these may be more available later. I hope so because I don't think the SS will be in my budget when it comes out, but would be a good addition to my xmas list that I give to people. It would also be cool if the would sell the SS handle separately, by itself as well...
