  1. My weekly shave routine is off and thus no shave for me today. If I do shave over the weekend I will probably use the Shake Sharp again. Looking for to OCtober as OC razors are some of my favorites! Have a great weekend my friends!

    TGIF!!

Another decent shave with the Injectomatic. One very tiny weeper under my chin that ran and hid before the alcohol hit it. A lttle irritation on my neck, but I did go truly ATG with the meatgrinder. Vast improvements with this razor from when I first found it a year and a half ago.
I realized that I hadn't pulled out the Barbershop soap yet this month for Stirling September. Splash yes, soap no. Someone on here (I can't remember if I'm starting to lose my memory :)) posted it yesterday and I thought I'd better rectify the oversight.

Posting my monthly summary now, as I think we're heading to the lake this weekend to start closing it up there over the next few weeks or so. I really enjoyed the two focusses this month. I was able to use the two 'new to me' SEs in my den for a week each- the E2 I picked up in the wild and a Gem MMOC piffed by @Linuxguile. As well, I got at least a few shaves each from the E3, G4, I1, GEM Jr and Injectomatic. Successful shaves across the board.
I was also able to use Stirling products for every day of the month, save for one day travelling where I decided to use the software I picked up on the trip. Used the following Stirling soaps- Gentleman, Gin and Tonic, The Lounge, Coniferous, SDM, Bay Rum and Port au Prince. As well, used Stirling Gentleman, Spice, Unscented(Glacial) and Barbershop in ASB or Splash. Used the Stirling Finest knot several times as well. Excellent products.

I also took a few moments last weekend and turned a new brush handle. It has been finished for a day or two and I'll be using it Monday.

    Have a great day all!
  3. Excellent shot, Jason! Can't wait to see the new brush handle!
  4. TGIF!
I look forward to your Wednesday and Friday pictures, Andrew.

  6. Thank you, Jim!
  7. Step 1; Get the badger funk out - I think that's completed.
Step 2; Load more product - it's a big knot.
Step 3; Dip the tips - I'll try that!

Thanks for the suggestion Andrew! I've been applying boar and synth logic to badger. It's not the same critter.
  8. Hope it works for you, I been able to get some really creamy, goopy, slick lathers out of my big badgers.
  9. TGIF!! Of course, as a musician and music teacher I LOVE this photo.
  10. Thank you, Gents. It is a knot that I generously received from Randy @BaylorGator as part of my Shavey Award. It is quite a small knot, about the same size as the Omega knot in my Omega travel brush, and I made an appropriately sized handle for it. I left it in the plastic ring it came to me in as I had never tried that before, and painted the Walnut similarly. I ‘defunked’ it with a few palm lathers, but it needs to be broken in still.
Not a great pic, but I think you get the general idea-

  11. Sorry, was actually trying to help and not just be an enabler... Yes, if you want samples, you should use Canadian Blade Co (they have a new name now, but you can link from that name still). They also have Stirling Splash samples.
  12. That's a beauty, Jason!

This is going to be a very "serious" post, so putting all attempts at humor aside, here we go...
Woke up after a fitful night's sleep (we are having some construction done and I am being stressed to the max)
Beautiful day in Danville, USA, so much so, that there was only one choice for my soap today:
    Dusy Kabinett. Some
claim that the same manufacturers of Klar Kabinett make this soap.
    I am doubtful. :signs002:
This is a vegan soap with a lovely rose scent. Some call it "artificial". I disagree. My post. My opinion.
My sister-in-law just brought me back another 500g from Germany. So, I have enough to last my lifetime and
    Andrew's children as well. ;)
Bloomed (of course) whilst showering, the Mondial 26mm ate this soap like it was its last supper. :eatdrink023:
The bristles of the Mondial are wonderfully soft now. FYI, this knot broke in faster than any other boar knot I have ever owned.
Razor: Gillette 1947 SS w/Personna blade.
Before I gush how magnificent this razor shaves, I have a question for the DYI'ers out there:

The blade always get stuck in this razor, as if there a a minuscule burr on the center post.
Thoughts as how I can fix this?
Thanks for the responses in advance.
I was shocked at the slickness of this soap. Serious buffing occurred.
    3 pass BBS, no issues.

Finished with a double-dose of rose: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel followed by a healthy splash of the DRH Pink.
    I am smelling like a Rose...pun intended.

Love the colours on that '8 ball' brush, Jim. Super stuff.
I'm sure you are happy to be back home, Jim! I sit through some painful meetings, but that one sounds particularly bad...
TGIF indeed! Awesome shot, Andrew. What a great little piano that is.
I'm looking forward to OCtober as well!
