Here's the fate of my free Birthday sundae. I got one small bite and left the rest to my Bride and our friend. It's all fun and games...for awhile, anyway.

Will someone please explain to @BaylorGator that ice cream trumps cookies...or so I've heard. ;)

    Thanks, Clint!

I think there is some cartel fake soap usage going on here. Either that, or the darkside cleans their cookie tins with shaving soap. I've killed off one tube of TOBS for the year as of last week. It wasn't a whole tub, but it was a few ounces. Honestly, I'm embarrassed to even report this to @Drygulch, as I'm not really a beleiver in the "participation award".

Thanks Jim. That assumes that I'm awake enough in the morning to find my phone and haul it into the bathroom. Vegas odds on this are not in your favor.

What about those of us who have purchased a crapload of soaps and finished almost nothing? No recognition here? C'mon, how about a little love for us soap hoarders!

I'm fully aware of this, Charlie. Viva la revolution (or revolucion)! I keep switching back and forth, but can't decide if our revolution is French or Spanish. I looked at the tag on the berets, but they just say "made in China").

As one who has entered the "soap hoarding sweepstakes" in the past year I try not to admit it, thus I try to cover up the rest of the group just so we can't be accused of being part of an out of control AD. We are, after all, reasonable men. (Opinions of ex-wives do NOT count).

As to the proper language of the revolution - based on the beret country of origin it would be 革命萬歲!

    Hope that helps.

Can you give that to me phonetically? I always have trouble pronouncing 歲 when it comes after 萬.

I have @BaylorGator and his band of dissidents in my sights. The way the poll started I'm about to sanction Cartel donuts. By the time he realizes that donuts and cookies are both in play, and how we have successfully cut the ice cream out of the distribution system (it's all being diverted to Cartel HQ but don't tell anyone) he will be begging for forgiveness. Soon, it won't be about the revolution having long life but it will be 革命已經死了。 I bet he wishes he hadn't discovered that made in China thing now either. :innocent

Try it in Simplified Chinese. 革命万岁 I used Traditional. Sorry if that confused you.

...and the NSA is now officially watching this thread again wondering why a fake Russian cookie and donut smuggling cartel is now speaking both traditional and simplified Chinese... Since I'm flying to DC later this week, I can now thank Neal for my free upcoming rectal exam. Awesome!:angry032:

Just have a lot of soaps half way finished at the start of the year. Then load the soap like it owes you money and is past due.

Very early morning shave and late day post. I absolutely love OC razors so I really enjoy this month. The SS Wolfman with a standard blade gap of 0.61mm delivered a smooth comfortable 3 pass shave. With touch ups, I didn't quite catch the baby. A splash of Thayer Witch Hazel followed by the matching Cade balm was a great end to the shave. I hope everyone had a great Monday.

James @jtface said he wanted to see what my "OC entrants" box of junk razors looked like when they were cleaned up.

Well, last night I took that box of uncleaned OC razors (plus the two grungy ones already in my rotation) and dug out the Dawn dishsoap, toothbrush and squirt bottle of Scrubbing Bubbles. I swished all the razors in Dawn-filled soapy water, scrubbed them with a toothbrush and left them to soak overnight in the soapy water. Then this morning rinsed off the Dawn, squirted with Scrubbing Bubbles, scrubbed with the toothbrush again, and gave a final rinse and towel dry. The result: nine razors that look exactly like the Before picture that Charlie @wristwatchb posted earlier of his Delta Echo refurbished NEW LC -- clean, serviceable and hardly a scrap of finish left among the lot of them:

OC razors - Old Type and NEW LC.JPG

I make it 5 Old Type Ball Ends, one dated 1916, two dated 1918, two without serial numbers which places them between 1921 and 1929, one Old Type Single Ring without a serial number so also made between 1921 and 1929, then three undated NEW LCs. Needless to say, not a single crack-free handle in the entire lot of Ball Ends. Do I have a great collection of grungy razors or what? Eat your heart out everyone with minty ones! ;) I will try them out this month and see how they shave...

Looks like a great shave, even if you did post it unusually late today, Clint! Did the Cade soap come in that bowl, or is it a vintage bowl that you switch soaps into as you use them?

I being rebellious today myself, and after spending last night cleaning up razors, I'm not going to use any of them today -- I'm arbitrarily declaring a No Shave Day just because I can...

Good work cleaning the razors. Are you thinking about sending any to Delta Echo?

I think you have a fine looking collection of vintage Gillettes, John. After OCtober, I'd be tempted to send a couple of my favorites out for a spa treatment. It would be cool to have some matching OCs to go along with your matching adjustables. DE will solder the cracked handles. I don't even notice the repair in my NEW LC handle. Just a thought. :innocent You might even get 'em back in time for :santa.
