I do appreciate that but even if I had the time, there are many others here far more skilled and knowledgeable than I, as well as (tbh) much more on fire for the hobby/discipline than I ever was.

I can relate. 2 grandkids & one on the way. A few years ago, I thought my days of homework and dipers were over. Uh nope! Grandma sure does love her grandkids so... tp
Shaving.... At first I was excited... Then it was routine... Now it is back to being a chore... I get far better shaves now than I did prior to learning to wet shave, but only do it when I have to be presentable.
I will never forget the very first time the hairdresser was buzzing off my sideburns with an electric and then suddenly veered over to give each ear a quick buzz. I was shocked and felt my age for the first time, but I still get a belly laugh when telling the story.
As far as shaving related goes? Having to trim ear hair. Lol drives me nuts. Besides that, keeping the edges of my friendly mutton chops straight. One slip and it's a chore.
Yep. The journey has been worth it to me. It has saved me money, it gives better results than I ever got before, and it's been darned interesting. In fact, coming here and reading posts is more interesting than shaving itself. And I'm okay with that.
Another vote for those miserable glue/wax dot on some blades . Anything made in Russia and Feathers seem to be the worst offenders. I just don't understand the need for these dots? Other quality blades don't have them.
If you mean the one thing I hate about wetshaving gear or the act of shaving itself, that would be Merkur blades. If you mean about wetshaving in general, that would be the current online shaving zeitgeist - a focus on hoarding, plenty of drama, with conflicts of interest thrown in for good measure. Not here, but in a number of other places.
I was totally stoked when I reached that point. Things were just like before, except my shaves were better and much less expensive. Best of all, I learned a lot and met some totally cool people along the way.
Or over you who do not let you do your job. I will say blooming soaps. There is a long list of rants. That tops them.
