  1. It is a very impressive and very open comb razor.
  2. But that hail is usually preceded by at least one major ice event prior - to make sure the cars are well dented from rear ending each other on the interstates one last time for the year. Good times in the 'burbs!
  3. I forgot to mention that I'm doing a side-by-side comparison of Voskhod and Sharp Star blades in the NEW LC. I plan to go through a tuck of each in the next 30 days by alternating from one brand to the other. I really enjoy the smoothness of the Voskhods, and it will be interesting to compare them against a Russian blade that I've never used before. I have no special Cartel Certification, so I've been encouraged to conduct this focus under the Cartel's Authoritarian Apprentice Scheme. I have no idea why I had to send $50 to a St. Louis P.O. box to get that crummy certificate, but I was excited to see that it also entitles me to get a 10% discount on Borscht at Radomir's Ribs.

    How about that?

Getting winterized on the prairie! Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a great evening!

  6. The Cartel is happy to have been able to make the deal with Radomir to get the discount as part of the "certification program". I'm also glad that the encouragement needed to have you come under the CAAS program didn't go beyond the basic visit from Boris and Yuri. I never enjoy having to send Ivan in on these things. It tends to cause anxiety and bruises.
  7. Winterized? So that's Colorado, heat wave in STL, fall weather in Canada and another tropical storm approaching the coast. I think Mother Nature is drunk.
  8. No matter how environmentally friendly you try to be, there’s always some guy who thinks he needs another fresh towel for everything... Housekeeping, Charlie needs a refresh on towels, Pronto!

  9. Thanks very much my friend.
  10. I'll second that. :happy088:

  11. Actually temp is above average. Winterized is labor done in Autumn to prepare for winter. Think blowing out irrigation, changing coolants, storing the massive ammonium nitrate stash--the usual.
  12. I should run my denim jacket through the laundry. Thanks for the reminder! If it would ever stop raining here on the South Coast I'd help out my dad in his orchard. Soon we'll mow it for the last time this year. Still need to check the sprinklers. They are used on the few January nights when temps dip below 28°F / -2°C.
  13. I hope your day improves and I’ll be praying for Mocha to make a quick recovery.
  14. I was thinking that was what you meant but wasn't sure. Make sure the det cord gets put in a waterproof container as well. The other stash won't be any good without it.

Razor - 1918 Gillette Old Style
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Truefitt & Hill 1805
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

October 2 is in the books and it's just 11:58. Stayed with the Gillette 1918 and Sharp Star (seriously, return those to HQ immediately - I know how to dispose of them safely) and went for one of my "odds & ends" soaps. The Truefitt & Hill 1805 is a classic from England that sits far too long between shaves in my den. It was a gift from @Bama Samurai and provides a classic lather without much trouble. It's slick and has a very nice scent. In fact, Jennifer gave me a good night kiss and commented on how much she liked my soap choice. When I mentioned I don't use it enough she readily agreed. I had to soak it for a bit before using the Wolf on it as it it had dried up more than I like. It came back nicely.

Two passes, touch ups, the baby is in the house, and the alum is mostly quiet. I hurried a bit so picked up a couple of hot spots, but that's the worst of it. Great shave to end the day!

  16. I wondered why I got a bill at HQ for extra towels at the Colonial Inn after the meet up.

  17. @Linuxguile I'm feeling a little influenced by Jedi mind tricks... Bama waves his hand, and I feel the urge to say I would like the Tuxedo please...

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna
    Razor: Schick B1 injector
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
Soap: RazoRock 'What The Puck' Blue Barbershop
Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave

Blue Barbershop soap and splash today with the Schick B1. This is a neat razor with good weight and balance. Shaves differently than other injectors I have. Smooth and virtually silent. Shallow angle and light pressure will get you nice results.

This soap and splash scent is RazoRock's take on Floid Blue. Never tried the original Floid Blue so I can't offer a comparison. I'll just say I really enjoy this scent.

    Have a great day!

  19. Thank you Keith. Mocha is doing a little better each morning. We hope the trend continues.
  20. Great shave and photo Perry. I hope your week is going well.
