    A much better morning than yesterday. A very nice two pass shave to start the day. I didn't catch the baby but the shave is more than good enough for work. A splash of Grand Bay and I off to fight Atlanta traffic.

    Blade: Voskhod (3)
    Brush: SOC Taj Mistura
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: MLS The Drunken Goat
    Lucky Tiger face tonic
    AS: MLS The Drunken Goat

    Great shave to start the day. Two pass no need for touch up. DFS.

    First use of the Mickey Lee Soapworks. Good and slick. I don't know that I smell the stout but definitely the chocolate and oatmeal. I also smell candied cherries. I like it! The scent has faded to almost undetectable already, which I'm ok with. I enjoy the scent during the shave but might become cloying if it lasted too long. In full disclosure I probably handicap all my aftershave scents. The last step in my morning routine is to apply a moisturizing sunscreen to my face. That's something I've been doing for just over a year now in my effort to take better care of myself.

    Nice photo and shave, Jim! Good for you on wearing the sunscreen. I've already had surgery to remove a basal skin cancer spot from my right ear last summer. Wasn't fun at all. I'm out in the sun A LOT in my job and wear sunscreen to practice and when we're outside. I've yet to start wearing some day in and out, but I probably should.

    Thanks, Perry! My job has me spending more time out than in, regardless of weather conditions. I'm 52 years old and I look it. My wife who's the same age and always took care of her skin still looks good. None of the deep lines in her face that I have. Something I should have started doing when I was younger.

    After my BCC I was advised that combining a hat with sunscreen more than doubles the protection that either offers.

    I was also advised to take high dose vitamin E daily to prevent against the hightened chance of melanoma. I have found a nice side effect of this is that since taking it, shaving cuts seem to heal quicker.
