Thank you Jeff. With many folks dusting off OC razors this month your knowledge of cap swapping is important!

I checked basenotes.net for the list. Here's what they say about Green Irish Tweed by Creed. Check for your particular sensitivities.
    1. Top Notes
      • Lemon,
      • Verbena
    2. Heart Notes
      • Iris,
      • Violet leaf
    3. Base notes
      • Mysore sandalwood,
      • Ambergris

Nothing on that list (I believe) causes irritation on my skin. I wear the Creed fairly often without issue.

I am one of those folks who gets a little irritation from SDM, Perry. Rod did post on there that it was a specific ingredient and he was aware of it for some folks. Love the scent, though. Easy to see why it is an iconic scent. I may look at another GIT clone at some point. To be honest, I get a similar reaction from The Lounge. My SDM is only a sample size though, no harm no foul.

Edit- I think Rod talked about it on our Stirling Exchange thread awhile ago as well. I don’t have time to look for it right now, but I think it had something to do with an ingredient that gave it a ‘fresh’ opening note, or something like that.

Lovely picture, Jason! I almost purchased Lavanille at one point but wasn't sure about the brush staining aspect of it.

I saw that warning about staining as well, Jim. Brown lather, brown horsehair...:happy088:

I'll be using the SLOC/Pearl combo this month. With my original Pearl top cap it's impossible to get an even blade alignment.

I hope so, John. Your reviews were very positive.
As you know, the knot is described as having a little less backbone than the Tuxedo. I think that will be good.

I get a little tingle from The Lounge as well. It wasn't bad but was certainly noticeable. No redness developed and all is fine now.

Love the Sheraton! Awesome looking effect, Jim
Lovely colours in the pic, Jim.
Don’t think it is the horsehair, John. Probably my skin issues popping up again. Same place on my neck.

    Focus gear: Gillette New SC
The Gillette SC is a very light razor with fine knurling, thin head and a surprisingly small "sweet-spot" (hereafter SS) angle.

Unlike a razor like the Feather AS-D2, when one loses the SS, it can get aggressive. While the Feather simply fails to shave at all.
Now, when I use the term
"aggressive", I mean that rather than "slicing" the hair off,
you are now "scraping" the hair off (along with some epidermis).

I am always ultra-careful when loading a blade in this and my LC. Not only does the blade not automatically align itself,
the threads on these handles are short and, IMO, the
weakest aspect of these razors. Stripping the threads is a real possibility.

My shave cream today is the second usage of a sample that was given to me.
Slåtterøy. A Norwegian company, with which I am fairly unfamiliar.

The scent has an orangish background (Bergamot?) and NO pine scent, which I think of when using Norwegian soaps, for example
    Brutalt Bra.
Great product that whipped up easily with my Mondial Boar and my Aesop Bowl.
    IMG_8081.jpeg
Excellent slickness and protection. The Personna 74, still going strong, made short work of the 24 hour stubble.
    3 pass BBS, zero issues.
I finished with a healthy splash of my vintage Old Spice Musk AS (not pictured)

I had a sample of SDM, too, and I didn't recall any irritation from the brand, but to me it's hard to notice anything other than scent itself, with a sample. But I had to respect commentary on it(the irritation)from others, including, of course, Doc Ezlovan himself.

Thank you Jason. I have a 30mm Tuxedo that I really like as well. I hope to have time to set the APS Flat Top Synthetic knot in the Ever Ready C40 handle tonight. I am looking forward to giving that one a try as well.

I'm pleased to hear that about Mocha, Clint. Y'know, each Saturday while on the treadmill at the gym, I watch a show about a vet for small animals. It's essentially for kids, but if you love animals as I do, kids can be my age :). Kind of sad to watch the animals go through their care there, but it always has a happy ending.

Thank you John. Even though she is slowing improving I am still very concerned about her level of pain. I think I will take her to the Vet today for some X-Rays. To start she had no desire to eat, so I had to put the pills into a slice of cheese and squeeze it into a ball. Then I shoved this far enough down her throat that she has to swallow. Over the last day or so, I have gotten her to eat boiled chicken and white rice. Now I just mix the pills in that and she eats everything.
