TSD colognes are technically in this class. They contain 25% aromatic compounds.

But y'all guys aren't gonna buy "perfumes" or "perfume extracts", so.............cologne.

I think a lot of other companies do the same since perfume has become known to the general masses as a female thing.

Exactly. Thanks for the addition, JoAnna!

Some of us like to wear perfumes. Like Ray.

Well if it says "cologne" on the bottle for one. I guess I really don't have an official definition; more a personal guide. If something has that strong, pungent, perfumed smell to it I consider it a cologne. I think that's what you're referring to w/ regards to extracts right?

Colognes are overpowering to my nasal passage and constrict my breathing apparatus which I like to use sometimes. I suppose it's very possible I won't care for these EDT's. I assumed they would be a little lighter on the aroma scale. We'll see. They should be here today or tomorrow.

I bet Shep already has tequila, too.

Quick, Shep. Run out and buy a Wii before we show up.

From your description I'm betting you don't care for the complexity of most mass marketed colognes. Too many notes in a cologne or perfume gives me a headache and hurts my nose. I like the nice simple one note type scents.

    Your nose?

What EdTs are you getting? 'Colognes' are made up of fragrance oils suspended in an alcohol base. Higher percentages of alcohol means less fragrance, lower percentages of alcohol means more fragrance. The higher the ratio of oil to alcohol in the 'cologne,' the stronger it smells.

I'm not sure if I answered your question. Let me know if I didn't.

Hit and miss with dinner. Sometimes she whips up something great and other times it's mac/cheese or PB&J. Also, she's from Districto Federal and their diet is different from what you typically find at Americanized Mexican restaurants. You might not care for it. Most On the Borders, Amigos, Del Taco and the like serve Tex Mex which is heavy on the beef, cheese, sour cream and tangy/spicy factors.

South and Central Mexico rely more on chili peppers, rice, chicken, some beef, tortillas. It tends to be kind of hot on the tongue; not spicy, but hot. Dunno. When I first got together with her, our ideas of Mexican food were different. Now of course I'm fully integrated!

They give me a headache too, especially powdery, flowery scents.

I think you said it better than I was trying. Too complex sounds right. There's too many strong scents competing w/ each other in most department store colognes and perfumes. I can't breath too good around them.

Tracy, what did I get? It's Sample pack B from SCS. I can't think of what all is in there right now. It looks like they are in an atomizer so I can control the amounts I use. I'll be spritzin' like Ray!

and yes my breathing apparatus is my nose, nasal cavity, throat, lungs, the whole enchilada. They come in handy on occasion. :happy088

Ah. I see what you're saying now. Colognes can be strong, but not complex. Say we've got a single note rose cologne with a high concentration of fragrance oil. That will be strong. If we've got a mix of bergamot, neroli, musk, tonka bean, vetiver, and vanilla oils at a very low concentration, we've got a weak cologne with a complex scent.

Also, your breathing apparatus is unnecessary. Tracy and I can sell it on the black market for you.

Simply put I just don't like anything that is an assault on the senses. A nice background fragrance is all I'm looking for. And I don't want it to be all perfumey and girly smelling either.

I don't think I posted this already and if I did too bad. I got my new nike nano workout thingie and it's great. Anybody who owns a nano and works out should have one of these.

    My plan exactly!

Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to say that colognes can be strong, but not complex (only one or two different fragrance notes), and that they can also be very weak smelling, but complex (numerous different notes).
