October 2018 30 Day Rule/Focus Pix & Discussion

I walk my daughter down the aisle in a few hours and just took some quiet time for a nice shave. I’m glad I brought this razor with me. Three passes for an absolute BBS shave. I’m looking forward to a great day.

Beautiful picture, Clint! Glad it was just a false alarm.

 

Supposedly these Rubie's are the "real thing" whereas, the theory goes, the ones I have always tried were counterfeit. I'm going to try one and find out if there is a difference. They may, then, go into said Ming-shi box.

Everything is fine by me with Mattress Firm. Yes, they did file Chapter 11 on Friday and are immediately closing 200 stores out of over 3000. Three of those stores are in St. Louis. One is in my district, and my store isn't that one. They have actually been planning to close that particular store for over 6 months. Just waiting out the lease. They are also closing as many as 500 more in the next few months as they reject and renegotiate leases. While there is a slight chance that my store might be on the list for a hard look, I doubt they will close more in our area. The main emphasis is on balancing the retail footprint in places like Chicago where they actually have stores sharing the same parking lot - from acquiring all of our competitors and rebranding them. Texas has the same problem in areas. North Carolina is another one seeing the bulk of closings. Anyway, within 60-90 days the goal is to shed the duplicate locations with their attendant leases and stop cannibalizing the business while saving $$$ and adding profit to existing stores.

And, thank you for the birthday greeting. Yep, another trip around the sun. It's nothing, really, I just hang on and don't fall off each day and I make it happen every 365 dayr or so.

Thank you, John. The razor is all original. There is a bit of brassing on the doors, but all in all, it is in pretty good shape.

I'm liking the flat top look. Just viewed a Yaqi review for a two band that looks nice. Wonder if AP Shave Co gets their knots from Yaqi?

Knew some folks had a big old German Shepard that lost it's voice. No bark, but the robber coming though the window used his when the silent alarm clamped down on his leg.

I enjoy the green preshave for it's strong menthol.. Does the white give that extra slickness that comes with the glycerine ingredient? Thinking I'll get the red if they all perform the same.

That's good news for the better salesmen and associated employees. Cherry picking the productive folks sideways to other locations, loosing the under performers. Y'all will soon be a leaner more profitable mattress selling machine.

my story...i started with the proraso white preshave as it was available at shoppers drug mart with the omega beechwood boar brush..i have many jars of it .i use the green in the summer sometimes and the red when using sandalwood soaps/creams,proraso included. i had to source the green and red preshave online. shoppers has green tub soap and white tub and tube.bit of an odd mix.is the white slicker?not sure just no real scent or heavier menthol that distracts. i like all three, just have tons of the white...
