I don't always have time for the french press and frothed milk so I use a Keurig from time to time. I've been using Dunkin' Donuts lately and thought I'd try something different. Picked up some of Keurig's Donut Shop Dark Coffee and was immediately impressed with the fuller flavor of this one. Nice stuff.
Iowa Coffee Company, Big Whiskey blend. The guy lives like 10 miles from me and it's unbelievably fresh. He even delivers it to my door.
I can’t stand Folgers, it’s very bitter to me. They evidently use a lot of Robusta beans in their blend. My favorite, and it was in my cup this morning, is Aldi’s whole bean 100% Arabica from Peru, medium roast. Best coffee for the money in my humble option. I grind it as I need it. I think the flavor is much fresher when fresh ground.
Ok, let me preface this by saying I understand that coffee from a Kuerig is at the bottom of the list for coffee. Having said that, I am the only who drinks any sort of coffee in my home. So, after following Fuzzys advice about Cafe Bustello, what other kinds of "main line" brands are good? I like my coffee strong and black, so I usually use Starbucks french roast, but I can't stand to buy them any more. I know there have to be brands out there that are similar to cafe bustello, and community coffee with Chickory. So, bean heads, please enlighten me.
I don't know about Keurig K cups, but the Vue machines produce excellent brews. Caribou brand in Vue cups is some of the finest coffee I've ever had and I'm pretty picky about my coffee.
I suppose this is a Texas based brand? I tried them once, didn't like it, but I will try again. I'm fairly certain that they make K Cups. I have heard about that brand and seen it before ,I'll give it a try!
Yet again, @wristwatchb "the enabler" strikes again and my cash balance takes a hit! But its all good , i got the kick up the arse i needed and bought some of my (well, the wife's tbh) favourite coffee beans. (No pre-ground cheating here! ) Using the French press and going off the tips from @wristwatchb 's favourite coffee maker , i fired up the grinder and the press for some glorious Sunday morning coffee! No milk. No sugar. Just straight out of the pot as God himself would drink it. Lovely.
