I found this on another shave web site. I don't think I have ever seen brushes as expensive as this. However, lots of hours and labor involved. Still....$475.00 for a brush is certainly way over the top for me. I've seen those. I have a Simpson and think it is a great brush. Ergonomics play a huge part of my liking a brush, and these don't look very comfortable. In my opinion, the oddly shaped wood handles are not worth the premium.
To me they’re more reminiscent of a Danish free-form briar pipe than a shaving brush, and I’m more of an ergonomic Peterson person. And I’ve been known to splurge but $450 is a bit ridiculous. I really like Simpson brushes though. Their handmade in house knots combine softness and density without being lather hogs. And I think the Isle of Man is a pretty cool place!
