Perry PLAla, the Saskatchewan cats and I just watched your video. Fantastic job by your kids! Thoroughly enjoyed it but can only imagine the number of hours they (and you) must have put in to achieve that.

Wow. That was a fantastic performance Perry. I can see why you are so proud of the kids. It’s easy to tell a lot of hard work went into getting to that point. Kudos for being a great teacher.

Judging from that Metropolitan vista and the full parking lot, you got there just in time to book a room with a view. If not for the higher floor that tanker would have blocked ... everything else?

Synchronicity? I ended my busy weekend trying to mow an acre of deep lawn. Ran out of sunlight 2/3's done. Showered with my blue collar Barbasol body wash & swiped my pits with Old Spice deo. Had a quick sandwich of white bread, cocktail sauce, and left over fried oyster, shrimp, and catfish filet. I was thinking about shaving, but vexed that my bestest, newest brush had gone missing. I keep my shave gear in the kitchen - hold over from bachelor days before my daughter and grand kids moved in to fill up my life. The three year old broke the microwave slamming the door, so when I moved the cart (with my shave gear on top) to unplug and install the new unit, my brush must have tumbled off and rolled under. Found my brush! Think I'll use the Klar soap tonight.
Thanks for the inspiration Gary ;)

Thank heavens I don't have to put up with that kind of a day. Who needs that when biting, wet, icy cutting, windy cold that would shrivel the, well, you know what, on a brass monkey is available in the middle of absolutely nowhere?

    Pinaud Whiskey Woods AS
SOTD 10142018.gif Who would have thought almond/marzipan scented soap would go well with whiskey, tobacco, and woody scented AS? You're wrong. Fortunately the strong scent of the soap fades quickly when rinsed off. This might have been my best recent face lathering since setting the bowl aside. Andrew @Linuxguile and I think Clint @clint64 have issues with fat brushes and small soap tins. Gary @brit knows what I mean. I consider it a challenge and grab the knot to load. No premoistening of the quintuple milled soap needed. Sorry fellow Bloomers - Joseph @Primotenore & Paul @Paul Turner. Got enough in the knot for three passes, and didn't need much clean up swipes. If I never try a Sharp Star for Neal's @NCoxSTL heroic efforts to protect folks, these RPLs will suit. An error free DFS with very nice no irritation lower neck results. Feet up, glass of sweet tea, and my alarm set for 4 AM because my daughter won't wake to alarm clocks. A long handled spoon in a 3 gallon gumbo pot gets her up, and I go back to bed.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Given the news out of Florida this week I'm simply going to agree. The tornadoes are plenty to deal with and at least you can usually get out of the way if you have to. Hurricanes, while you think you are safe, often prove otherwise as we've seen this year.

    Soap - Stirling Sheep
Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic
    Post - Alum

I'm happy to say today was a very nice day in spite of the reason for being here. The visitation was a rather small affair, as we expected, but I got to visit with some cousins and other friends I haven't seen in over 20 years. Afterwards we came back to the hotel for their "happy hour". Basically a free drink (choose beer, water or soft drink) and soup. Tonight's choices were Cheddar Broccoli or Tomato Bisque. I chose the cheddar. It was actually quite tasty with the Corona to wash it down. Large Hispanic population here so Corona is pretty common. My sister and I had a long conversation after the rest of the family staying here wandered off to bed. Good to catch up. We are the last two standing in our family now and it's a strange feeling.

Finished up the day with a very nice shave featuring my original finish LC with a Sharp Star. I brought along the Stirling Sheep and brush for a fine and rich mutton based lather. The extra moisture in the mutton tallow definitely helps out here on the high plains. The humidity is low, even with some light rain earlier today, so anything helps. I'll catch up here for a bit then hit the pillow to prepare for another early start tomorrow. Plans are to be back in the Lou by midnight following the morning activities.

    Happy Monday to everyone!
