Thank you, Clint! I do really enjoy this razor; it is a cruise control type of razor for me.

That's great news from the dermatologist, Adam! I hope the shake up at the company does cause too much strife at the office.

I enjoyed an excellent two-pass shave this morning. This is a really nice kit, travel or otherwise. I have one more shave planned before returning to My Old Kentucky Home. I've been warned to get ready for colder weather. I'm psyching myself up for a two-week weigh in. I've been watching what I eat on vacation (it has been tough), and I've stayed close to my calorie budget. At home, I have averaged about 2700 calories per week below my budget. Last week, I met my calorie budget (indulged myself with an almost daily small portion of ice cream) which should allow me to lose about 1 pound or so per week. I'm hoping to either have maintained or possibly dropped by a pound or two.

I've been reading up on coffee beans and coffee making lately. I tried Cafe Bustelo over the past few days at the recommendation of @wchnu. It's good, but it's more full bodied than my everyday coffee. I just ordered a nice manual burr coffee grinder, and I have a line on some fresh roast coffee beans once I get home. One roaster is local (Good Folks Coffee), and another involves ordering on-line (Stumptown Coffee Roasters). I'm gonna bust out my French Press when I get home and have some fun with it in the evenings. Our morning coffee is usually Tim Horton's pre-ground (hoping to get some brownie points from the Canadian 30DC members) in a Bonavita pour over coffee maker. I'm even gonna descale and clean up the Bonavita. It was due for its 3-month descale about a year ago. :) If we have any coffee connoisseurs here, I'd appreciate your recommendations on coffee beans, brands, etc. I figure gourmet coffee is a nice zero-calorie treat I can enjoy while I continue to work on my weight. :)

That's my story. I hope you all have a fantastic week! It has been blast following your OCtober exploits.

Safe travels, Brian. I hope this trip isn't a long one.
Awesome news! The dermatologist earlier this year said sort of the same thing- keep doing what I was doing, but cut back on the high alcohol % splashes...
Progress! You must be excited to move on to the kitchen.
I did the kitchen myself, right down to the studs... I was only 3 months over and $3000 too much when it was all said and done...
Awesome pics and report. New Improveds are becoming my new 'thread crush'...they are everywhere on here this month.
    A Canadian Icon, no doubt.
'Tis swill. Good, reliable swill that always tasted the same, but swill nonetheless.:)

I've decided that with my next use of the Maggard Tobacco&Leather aftershave, I'm going to try a cream first(probably Barbasol), to see if it the burn calms down any with a "cooler" shave item than the Local Gent Tobacco Lounge. Just a mad scientist experimenting here. Maybe, as someone suggested, I simply get a bad reaction with back-to-back Tobacco products.

Great shave report Charlie. I hope you have a safe trip home. Blue Mountain whole bean coffee is available in two different roasts. It’s a real treat when I buy some.

My first encounter with Tim Hortons was on business trips to Michigan. It's just an ordinary doughnut shop coffee, but it reminds me of the good friends I have through my work. It's a nice, easy cup in the morning, and we purchase it on Amazon. It certainly appears to have its loyal followers based on all the reviews. It's probably a half-step up from the free-to-me Maxwell House and Folgers that I guzzled for years at work. I grew up watching my Dad boil his Maxwell House cowboy coffee on our gas stove every morning. It didn't kill me then, so I guess it made a man out of me. :)

I hope to up my coffee game a little bit. I found a local roaster that interested me and purchased a couple of bags of beans. The nuances in gourmet coffee reminds me of shaving, watches, knives, bourbon, craft beer, fountain pens, and other deep and dangerous rabbit holes.

The Sun Shines Bright In Their Old Kentucky Home(well, that is, it WILL do that when it's complete) :). The sun, that is, not the home. (OOps, ruined a beauty of a song, with the extra "lyrics").

Early morning shave with a late afternoon posts. It has certainly been a Monday. At least I was able to start the day with an excellent shave. Two passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. I hope everyone has had a great day.

Thanks very much, Clint. I appreciate the kind words.

I bookmarked both of the coffee websites and will check them out. We brought Blue Mountain Coffee back from Jamaica many years ago and enjoyed it. Thanks for putting it back on my radar screen. I've always heard about Kona coffee, but I can't remember ever trying it. Thanks again, my friend.

Charlie, if you want to check out something from my neck of the woods, take a look at Boyers, I'm a big fan of the Rocky Mountain Thunder:

I only buy and use those Blue Mountain and Kona as a treat. I have a Encore Burr Grinder and use Blue Mountain and Kona whole bean coffee from Costco. It is not nearly the same but a good coffee. Wade got me hooked on grinding my own coffee. Now he has really gone over the top, buying green beans and roasting his own coffee before grinding. That is more involved than I want to go at this point.
