Thanks Clint. My sister loves Costco, so I'm sure she can pick up these coffees for me. I've heard of folks roasting their own beans. While that sounds interesting, I can't see myself doing this. I got myself a small hand grinder. If my Bride starts liking the new coffee, we may have to eventually get a better grinder. We'll see.

And down the rabbit hole I go. Again. :D

Razor: English Gillette Flat Bottom New
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Soap: Williams
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Another pleasant shave with the English FB New. Last week's issues have just about healed and I'll probably move on to something else in a day or so.

Adam, I can appreciate the full meaning of your comment after seeing the crates of of straight razors you brought to the meet up. Since we now live in a time where people take offense at seeing someone open a pen knife, the people sitting at the table next to us at the restaurant are still in shock and are currently undergoing therapy. :happy102:

Paul, have you considered that you're reacting to crappy soap? Don't discount that possibility. I still have that awful smell stuck in my nostrils.

Well, that will be the other "experiment"....using that soap with a leathery aftershave with which I'm comfortable. But I didn't get that burned up feeling until after applying the Tobacco&Leather A.S. the first time(having already applied the Local Gent soap.)

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Monday afternoon OCtober 15 - still back in SEptember...

Jason's PAL Injectomatic / vintage PAL Stainless injector blade (3)
Supply Co Silvertip Fibre 24mm synthetic brush
    Hendrix Classics Barbershop soap
Hendrix Classics Barbershop balm test sample

Another nice shave with my loaner Injectomatic. It's different than the Schick injectors but once you get the angle right and remember that this razor absolutely requires "no pressure", it delivers a great shave.

Tomorrow I will return to Open Comb territory however. I spent last evening elbow-deep in Dawn suds and Scrubbing Bubbles again after digging out another 18 razors in need of cleaning. A lot of them are OC models. Six were loose and the other dozen were in what might laughingly be called cases. The razors themselves are mostly in decent using shape although dirty and often with badly worn finishes, but the cases... What the heck was I thinking when I bought them? Three are nice; the others look like they came out of a dumpster - rusty, broken down, filthy, with tattered interiors and mildew I can smell across the room... After cleaning the razors, I am reluctant to put them back in their cases, because they would probably need disinfecting again before use... I suppose I could restore the metal cases on razors like the Gillette Bostonian - strip out the interiors, clean off the dirt and rust, then reline with new velvet. But I am thinking the cases with exteriors made of leather covered wood, cardboard or pressboard (like the one that holds an Aristocrat or the red/black NEW) should maybe just hit the garbage.

Anybody here ever had any luck fixing old razor cases?

Great report John. There is a thread about repairing and lining the cases. I see if I can locate it. I replaced the lining on a Red & Black case. However the case was in really good condition.
