I've been eyeballing some of the Malachite Paladin's, but have yet to decide that I want to pull the trigger on such a pricey brush.

Well, either I'm improving on my October focus of brush swirling to get the better load, or the WSP soap itself provides for it(good loading). I have to admit I could have done a 3rd pass this morning-there was still a solid amount of soap left after the second. I may try for a 3rd tomorrow(I'll have the same soap). Course the BRUSH could have been a factor, too(I had the Jayaruh #59).

Honestly, I have no idea what it is like as I haven't used this one before. I use Thayer's witch hazel every shave, and the scents don't interfere with my aftershaves. I normally finish my shave, do a cold water rinse, alum bar, dry it off, splash on witch hazel, dry it off, and put my aftershave on. Joanna has TSD witch hazel on sale for $2.33 a bottle right now, so I didn't see it hurting in any way. I'll try out the lime one on my next shave, and let you know about the scent.

Thank you, Clint! We have the same weather here. It is the first day that has a fall feeling around here, but it is dreary outside.

Moved on to a DE OC razor today, for OCtober. Cooper Mono-built. I have a love hate relationship with this razor. I used one of the horrible Sharp Star blade, just trying to get them out of circulation. My Cooper is a little tricky to load the blade in correctly and tighten it down. Once that is done, you have a razor with a lot of blade feel, where you can operate at a variety of angles. Some of which will give bad razor burn. Stirling gave a great lather. Not a huge fan of this scent, but I will finish up the sample. I kept the angle low, and the touch light. I buffed in a few trouble spots, and ended with a very smooth face. I splashed cold water on my face and put the alum bar on. And it was freaking hot. Like swearing at the mirror hot. Finished the alum and looked in the mirror. Multiple red spots were forming on my neck. Apparently the blade was so smooth, I did notice how much damage I was doing to my neck. Yikes. Dried my face, and put witch hazel on. You know its bad when Thayers burns. Let that sit while I cleaned up, then dried the face and splashed on the over-mentholated Lucky Tiger Aspen. More swearing followed, until the menthol kicked in and numbed stuff down. Not going to call this shave a success, and need to give the Cooper another shot on Thursday. I do want to commend the smoothness of the Sharp Star. I didn't feel it bite at all when it was removing chunks of skin on my neck.

Excellent photo, Adam. Currious about the troubles that you have loading a blade in the Cooper, Are you putting the blade tab under the clip like this ( I just so happened to have a MonoBilt with me as I was going to let Jim @jluc borrow it):

After reading Adam's report I'm even more curious about trying this razor.
Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment.

It did take me a few shaves to figure out that the blade has to go under that tab, which is VERY IMPORTANT. My razor doesn't seem to grab the post well when I tighten it down. I have to loosen it and push from the top to get it to grab well. I double checked it, and it was set correctly today. I just used too high of an angle in some spots, and buffing was not one of my best decisions.

The tips of my '49 looks that split, but the splay is not as wide. I set Keith's knot a little shallower as I know he prefers them that way. I think that Omegas do take a full 30 days to become that soft, Randy, and am not sure how many days you have on yours.

    Thanks, Perry!
Its a razor with a lot of blade exposure and feel. It rewards close attention, and punishes overconfidence. Its a fun razor.
    Yeah.
