Gathered a little inspiration from Brian’s @mrchick visit to the Portland Razor Company... got me to pull out the PRC Hydra. Got a chance to meet Hunter a couple years back at the Seattle meet-up. Glad to see they are doing well! Thanks for sharing Brian. Tom
The Avon Mesmerize aftershave in @david of central florida shave was an inspiration for a wonderful Saturday shave! You have to match a Mesmerizing razor with a Mesmerizing aftershave... just had to happen. Thank you David for a little fun on a Saturday! Enjoy your shave! Tom
Gary @brit used his Klar, so I decided to take mine for a lather. It's a challenge loading a 33mm brush in the small aluminum tin. Well worth the effort. Brush by Steve @Vlasta - The King Razor - Gillette NEW LC & bar handle If you were wondering Mandel (Almond) and Whiskey Woods don't go together, but the scent of the soap fades quickly after rinsing.
A little educational video from my perspective. I find this to be the easiest way to obtain an excellent shave and a tiny bit of stropping technique. Remember your first strop is going to get the worst of your battle scars! don't worry just go cheap and once your technique is down you will move to a good one! Just a warning for all whom are not beginners this video is 24 mins long and not edited at all. please be patient and enjoy! Good looking set up Andrew @Linuxguile . I have a question since I've not tried that style of Shavette - How does it compare to others you've used? Assuming it's a DE/OC I can see advantages.
Thanks Rick! It really is more like shaving with a safety razor rather then an open blade. The challenge is really figuring out how you have to hold the razor and rotate the scales in order to get a cutting edge in position for the cutting stroke that you want to do. The other thing to note is that the Durham Duplex was designed to use a proprietary blade and the only blade currently produced that will fit it is the Personna Pathology blade, luckily the shaves from it are decent enough.
Wow! what a shave! this Monster of a razor cleaned off 4 days of whiskers with no hesitation. Loved it! great performance with Tallow + Steels Sicily. I'd like it more if it was a Cologne like other Pinauds. As an AS it's a great scent, but doesn't last like SR or Clubman lotion.
Far be it for me to tell them how do business. I'm happy with it as is. For many folks Pinaud products are on the far side of too strong scent wise. The new line is comparable to other company's offerings. If I get to feeling frisky I might try blending some Special Reserve and Whiskey Woods for a longer lasting scent.
