Friday October 19 Jason's PAL Injectomatic / vintage PAL Stainless (4?) JR267 birdseye maple and Omega 49 boar knot Hendrix Classics Barbershop soap Stirling Autumn Glory splash sample I went back to the Injectomatic for one more shave before sending it back to Jason. Another great two-pass shave from it. I finished off with another Stirling splash sample. They describe this one as a walk through an Autumn woods. Maybe. It's quite strongly scented anyway. And another I won't be buying...
Great report John. At least the samples are allowing you to rule out future purchases. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SOTD October 19, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Personna Razor: Schick B1 Brush: Omega 10049 boar Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave Another wonderful Fat Friday shave in the books. This is a recycled picture from last month as I didn't have time to snap one last night. The B1 did its job quite well this morning. This razor is not noisy whatsoever, so you have to watch pressure and let the weight and heft do its work. Wonderful lather from The Fat and a nice finish from the American Blend. Can't ask for much else. Smooth, comfortable, and drama free. Have a great day!
October 19, 2018 Wolfman Ti OC (.74mm) with Hempel Ti Feather Zenith B27 Boar 28mm x 55mm L’Occitane Cade A great shave to end the work week. The Cade soap was a gift from my wife and I really like this one. Nothing special as such but it just works. Two passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. My lower right neck, aka "My Nemesis " foiled my attempted at a perfect shave. A little of the matching balm and I am off to conquer the day. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
Thank you, Clint! Beautiful photo. I recall Nick Shaves on Youtube using L'Occitane Cade. I watched a lot of his videos when I was starting out and learning to lather soaps and shave with a DE. But I've never tried it. Glad you enjoy it! Here's to Friday.
October 19 SOTD: Razor: PAA Ascension SS Blade: Voskhod Brush: Ever-Ready 150 Lather: Arko Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum with Lime and Peppercorns Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB A really nice shave this morning with this combination. The Arko was just about as good as it gets, and I have to say to me, this is a terrific razor. It is perfect for gym mornings where I am in a bit of hurry, as it is such an easy shaver. I did two passes and go an easy DFS. I hope everyone has a great day!
Thank you Perry. My wife gave me several soaps including Cade and Pre de Provence. I have only used each several times but this far I prefer the Cade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
October 18 Gillette NEW LC Voskhod (1) Kent BK4 Silvertip Le Père Lucien - unscented Alum, Thayers Lavender witch hazel, Trumper Coral Skin Food, and unrefined shea butter Aramis EDT Last evening, I enjoyed a two-pass shave at home with my OCtober setup. It's good to be home. I used Aramis earlier in the day, and it was still going strong when I shaved. I love the scent, especially in cooler weather, but I need to remember to use one spray instead of two. I switched back to the Voskhod to compare against the Sharp Star. Both are great blades, but I prefer the Sharp Star for sharpness and smoothness by a slight margin. Happy Friday, gentlemen!
Great Fat Friday shave, Perry! Beautiful photo, Clint! Love the picture, Jim! Nice shave, Charlie! Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
Thanks, Clint. Yes, the samples are working. I ordered a set of four splashes in scents I was wondering about. I like Coniferous and might go for a full tub and/or bottle. The other three, not. Great photos and reports today, gentlemen!
