    Here's my Tobacco&Leather A.S. Lab Report #1:

No sting today! I bet using just a regular cream(I used Barbasol)makes a big difference. But I'm going to try different creams&soaps before using it, along with different strategies. I really want to like this aftershave. Thus, Project MaggardRazors Tobacco&Leather A.S, will be ongoing. One thing for sure....it's clear a tobacco soap and tobacco A.S. doesn't work for me.

Did your Lucky Tiger face tonic serve as a good "contrast" to any hot sting from the Cognac&Cuban Cigars?

Me, an inspiration ? I'm honored! Great shave, Neal. Do you know if that was a Pathology blade or a Carpet slitter ? I've read that the pathology blades are much better. In my shave I only experienced tugging on the mustache and chin where my beard is the coarsest.
John, Aside from the obvious weight difference, how does the IM compare to the Supply Injector ?
Excellent shave and photo(repost or otherwise), Perry!
Fantastic photo, Clint! The tip of the bush seem to be breaking in nicely, but it doesn't seem to be opening up much.
Excellent shave, Jim! I was really impressed by the SS DOC and think its a great value for the price.

Another really good shave with the Red Tip again this morning. I find the regular ‘50s Flare Tip a bit of an underrated shaver and this is a heavier, slightly more aggressive version that keeps the smoothness of the original. The Latha Sandalwood is a soap that has really grown on me, as I wasn’t super impressed with it scent-wise when it came via trade with Randy a year or so ago. Not a traditional Sandalwood as currant is the dominant scent to my uninitiated nose (and is obviously listed first on the tub...my observation skills are keenly developed), but one that I’ve come to like. Back to the OC focus this weekend.
    Have a great day all!

Jason, IMO the Red Tip is the only SS worth keeping in my collection. Great photo! And that brush:love055:!

It's just a step in my morning routine, Paul. I apply the face tonic or witch hazel after rinsing the alum from my face. I brush my teeth while it dries then apply the aftershave. I really don't get much more than a few seconds alcohol burn from most of my aftershaves.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I suspect it's the carpet slitter but not sure. I actually have a few of the original blades that came with the Duplex I bought at first. I have assumed they'd be as bad as a Gillette Blue over time given they are carbon. Those don't weather time well. I may yet get up the nerve to try one just to see.

Oh OK..come to think of it, the Tobacco&Leather burn was MUCH more than I,ve had from others.

Fougère Friday is the subject of this shave.

Now, I only have two fougère soaps, (I know, Primo only has two of something :shocked029:) MdC and Valobra, thank you @Keithmax for the Valobra.
Rather than compare the two, of which, in my humble opinion, there really is no comparison,
I will focus on the MdC.

This is the old glass container and it is heavy. 200g of soap when it was new and there remains approximately 50%.
Classy, to say the least. But class is not the determining factor when I choose a soap, or more importantly, if I keep the soap.
Back in the day, I had a Brain Bowl. For the un-initiated, the MdC Brain Bowl is their original (lavender) scented soap,

piled high in a cute, little wooden bowl. It makes a great conversation piece, and after "focussing" on it for 30 days,
I had had enough. It now resides (or at least it did reside) with a fellow member @SRNewb (Mike). It would be
interesting to know if he ever used it up, or what? Maybe he'll chime in.
The fougère is a really pleasant soap and the scent is fairly strong...however, I always feel a very slight "tingle" when I use it.
Slickness is above average. Protection is good and post shave is slightly below average.

I won't go so far as to say it's "drying", but it doesn't leaves one's skin feeling particularly nourished.
Day 2 with the Personna Med Prep. This time in my one and only SS razor: Feather AS-D2.
I have often said that I would grab this razor in case of an apocalypse. Why? It's a tank. Solid, EXCELLENT
heft and nifty knurling (alliteration anyone?) and, despite the complaints that it is too mild, (a comment that I find
somewhat ridiculous---my shield's up, let the arrows fly :scared003: ) it never disappoints. NEVER.
3 passes, ohne Sorge, for a BBS-extraordinaire shave.

Finished with the Godfather of Fougère: Original, vintage Brut.
