Another excellent shave this morning with everything working well together. Three passes and touch ups ended in a perfect BBS shave. A weeper prevented the shave from being Epic. A splash of CC Sandalwood and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Nice shave, John. I agree, there is something about the mutton tallow.
Great pic, Perry. Congrats on finishing a soap.
Another stunning picture, Clint. Beautiful razor.

Two key things to notice about today’s SOTD:

First, this was my first shave with a CJB pain stick which @Keithmax generously provided me almost two years ago after the Shavey awards. It has taken me that long to develop sufficient skills on the dark side to avoid a “filet-o-face” incident using it. Today was the big day, and the shave was relatively uneventful with the exception of a couple small weepers which showed I need to reduce pressure even more, and a small Nick from a clumsy setdown, which showed I need to not be an idiot when wielding a sharp implement.
Second, note the bottom of the tin of my 1 oz. Oleo Shiloh sample. I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I’m closing in on the second 1 oz. sample I will have killed this year. If I keep this up, there may be a chance to get below 100 soaps in the den. OK, you got me, that’s just crazy talk.

I'm interested in how Deluxe Shavingsoaps softness might be comparable to something like Stoylin Sheep(or the Electric Sheep for that matter). Superior job of loading onto a brush.

First shave with my newly arrived New Improved. It came in its super cool Bostonian case from John and I spend an hour or two polishing it up. I posted before and after pics, and of the case, in The Haul thread. There is some plating loss on the head, but overall I think it is a real stunner.
Loaded up the favourite Nacet and got the usual great Jeeves lather. The scent is ok and heck who am I kidding, it actually says 30 Day Crew on it...
The razor is quite heavy. I didn’t weigh it, and can find the weights on Mr. Razor easily enough, but it is significantly heavier than it’s contemporary 3 piece OCs- the Old Type and Bar Handled NEW. Went with a full 3 pass shave. I am quite smooth. Not perfectly smooth, but no irritation it seems either. I will enjoy getting this razor dialed in.
    Have a great day all!

    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated

    AS: PAA Will-O'-the-Wisp

    Good morning!

Went with the same software for today's shave. Really enjoying the performance and scent.
First shave with the Dart. Great shave! Two pass with touch up near BBS result. I'll have to agree with Andrew @Linuxguile , in comparing the Blackbird to the Dart. Smoothness goes to the Blackbird, efficiency goes to the Dart. I'll go with the Dart for a couple more shaves before going back to the OC focus to finish the month. The Dart will be the razor of choice for no variance November.

    Have a great day! [IMG]
