1. The Big H has been around for decades...I well remember seeing the Hood "Milk Truck" back its way into our driveway in Cape Cod for deliveries, probably when I was 7-8 years old.

  2. Why do adult humans drink the mammary secretions intended for the baby of a different species?

    Why do we do this?

  3. I respect the question, but I don';t like the idea of having my cereal with water or soup. Milk worx 4 me. .
  4. I've been drinking dairy milk all my life until recently. I've always liked the taste of it and most any dairy product for that matter. I now drink Almond milk (with no added sweeteners) almost exclusively and don't miss dairy milk at all. Based on my consumption, this singular change in my diet has reduced my weekly calorie intake by almost 1500 calories!

    I continue to consume other dairy products, such as cheese and ice cream, in moderation. Combined with making other smart food choices and exercising more, I've lost 33 lbs. over the past 3+ months. I feel better, have very few cravings, and I'm planning to see my doc in a few weeks to make sure everything is OK from his perspective. The changes seem to be working for me...
  5. Milk is super loaded with fat and sugar and is intended to make calves grow quickly.

    It makes adult humans fat.

    Let's examine:

    What actual milk (species) is not intended solely to foster rapid growth?

  11. Yes. It all is when it's produced for offspring. Unless it's been skimmed or processed, it's loaded.
  12. Did you know all wheat in the USA is desiccated with glyphosate (Roundup)?

    The recent modern rise of "gluten intolerance", metabolic syndrome, and autism precisely correlates with this practice. Just something to think about beyond what is on the "nutrition labels."

  16. I underestimated the calorie reduction when I converted from dairy to almond milk combined with reducing my portions. Here are the numbers, and yes I used to drink a lot of milk.

    2% milk (before): 2 gal/week x 16 cups/gal x 124 cal/cup = 3968 cal/week
    unsweetened almond milk (now): 0.5 gal/week x 16 cups/gal x 3o cal/cup = 240 cal/week

    Difference = 3728 cal/week

    :eek:

  17. Interesting question. My latest diet (not the dieting kind, just regular eating) eliminates milk from cows. I don't have an issue with drinking milk, but have been told that we don't absorb the calcium as readily when we are older.

  18. Wheat? What is this wheat that you speak of? Yep, it's been cut out of my diet too. I am much healthier now.
