How does the shave compare to one that you would get from a Schick type G, or L. I would have had a type F last week off Ebay but the seller decided to end the auction without the razor being sold.

With the shave I get from my Gem Bullet Tip I could easily skip a day of shaving due to there being minimal stubble the next morning. These vintage Gems shave so well how did we ever end up with the multi bladed razors that are on the market today. Even back in the day the single edge razors took a back seat to the Gillette DE's due to marketing.

    Hi Clayton,
I do not like the L at all when I used one. The G is OK, but it is just that for me. The look and feel of the F in my hand that sets it apart. Also happens to be my Birth Year Razor

I just won one off ebay to replace the one that I had that had broke. They aren't built as rugged as the Schicks are. The adjustment mechanism broke on my first one on the second shave.

I couldn’t disagree more. Mine has substantial weight to it and is very solidly built. It’s good looks are just a bonus to me.

    Supply vs. two days growth
This felt great during the shave, but ended up with a few weepers and some burn. Maybe I went too fast because it felt good. I think I might go back to the •• plate until I really polish my technique. The lather was top notch and I could enjoy the scent even though I have been dealing with allergies or a cold for a couple weeks now.

I used this filter because it reminded me that light conquers the darkness and love conquers hate.

    Sunday's shave

    VDH badger brush
    Reef Point Fugere Santal soap
    ER shovelhead razor
    GEM stainless steel blade
Witch hazel, aloe, vetiver skin conditioner
    Old Spice aftershave

The shovelhead knocked down my 3 days of growth with no problems. Feel clean and ready for the day ahead.[IMG]

The handle is built well. It's the adjusting mechanism that isn't as well built as the Schicks are. But than again it's an over fifty year old razor. I like the smooth looks of it.

    Aqua Velva Musk

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #217 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels Safety Razor with a J.A. Henckels Wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Super excited to be participating in a PAL and a Schick Adjustable pass around over the next few weeks... Will definitely share my thoughts and plenty of photos of the shaves!

I won a PAL Adjustable Razor, and a Gem Gem G-Bar off Ebay this weekend. They both should be delivered this week. And Jayaruh is turning me a new handle for my 1912 Demaskeene razor. It's been a great weekend.

Over the last week I have had some good Shaves with a variety of SE / injector razors , but I think todays
is the best. Though quite heavy this Razor just works so well in all areas, and provided that one does not rush it is extremely forgiving. In the Past I have been able to use it as a back to back Razor without any
problems. I think if I need a special occasion Shave, this may well be the razor I reach for.

This blade did not feel good. I only made one pass on my neck and two on my face before I pitched the blade.

Decent shave this morning, but not the best. The Black Hawk performed well but I was left with a little irritation and redness. Oh well. Can't win them all. Have a great day!
