Not in shave soaps, Clint. I did, however, get a bunch of nice SV bar soaps last year in various scents from an outlet. I had Felce Aromatica and loved it (hence the desire to get it as a shave soap) and also got Cosmos and Dolomiti. Both were pleasant enough, but did not stand out to me like the Fern.

Cool. I’ll mark those off the list. I’m still curious about Sardegna and Sicilia.

I'll check with you, James, before I return to the Old Country to see where I can find a suitcase quantity of shave sticks for 49p each! :D

I didn’t shave this morning because I got up early and went pheasant hunting. It was a good morning and I love where I live
I hope you all had a good day as well!

Gillette Old Type Ball End no SN / Astra SP (3)
JR #320 mahogany handle with APShaveCo 28mm SynBad knot
Renaissance Faire style horn quaich lather bowl
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
    Jeeves Mountain Rain splash

    IMG_20181027_210636.jpg

I went back to the Fendrihan sample today to continue using it up. It's an okay soap but no comparison in slickness to the Stirling soaps or even to the Hendrix Classics vegan soap. I will use up the sample but won't be buying a puck of it. I bowl lathered with the big Jayaruh brush today. I have been face lathering most of this month but think I still prefer the better control I get using a bowl.

The razor and blade worked smoothly. (You can see the permanent split down the handle in the photo; the ends are sealed in rock solid though.) Two passes to a DFS, only let down from being BBS by some slight roughness in the usual patches under my chin.

The Jeeves splash is a new one for me. The performance is excellent of course. I haven't figured out the scent yet. It's described as a mountainside after a rain. The scent is light but the lingering smell is almost smoky. Maybe cedarwood?

Razor - Gem Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Stirling Glastonbury
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum

I have to correct an oversight tonight. I had ordered in the Stirling mutton tallow samples and somehow failed to try the Glastonbury. The notes are Patchouli, Lavender, Oakmoss, Lichen, Frankincense, and Vetiver, and it's a very nice scent. I see, however, it is no longer on the website so it must be out of production at the moment. The soap performed just like Stirling is supposed to, and the mutton tallow was glorious as always. No issues or complaints at all. Except there aren't enough mutton tallow soaps.

Three passes with the OCMM and he was a good boy tonight. Smooth with the Treet blade and no biting, scratching or kicking. Very nice DFS finish and a great ending to a somewhat long day. Hope you had a great Saturday and your Sunday is even better!

    Razor: Gillette New LC
    Blade: SuperMax Blue Diamond (1)
    Brush: Maseto Finest badger 30mm
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: MLS The Drunken Goat
    Lucky Tiger face tonic
    AS: The Drunken Goat

    Good morning, gentlemen!

Back to the New LC for this morning's shave but with an original handle on loan from Andrew @Linuxguile. Great shave. Two pass with touch up, DFS result.

After putting the original handle on, the razor did feel head heavy. Quickly became a non issue once I started shaving. I didn't notice it at all. I did apply alum to my fingertips regularly to maintain my grip. The MLS is slick stuff and I had it everywhere.

    Have a great Sunday! [IMG]

Technically, that looks like the wrong handle. Based on the picture, you have an early LC which would have come with a ball-end handle that had a narrower collet. That's why it doesn't screw down flush with the baseplate.

A fantastic shave this morning was a great way to start the day. The Paladin whipped up a mountain of rich lather in short order. Two passes, ATG and XTG, followed by touch ups just missed catching the baby. A splash of Balsamica and I off to visit Mom for the day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Very pleased with my shave this morning-the Panna Crema Fumo Di Londra(London Smoke). There isn't much left, which probably explained why I could load it strongly. It glided(glid? glode? glud?)across my face and neck with comfort. As with my plan of getting rid of those soaps that are close to being done before the year is out, I expect be returning to this one pretty soon.
