    That's a shave scent I'm beginning to focus on...gunsmoke.

So did I. That 66 was a really nice revolver until I went and sold it. Well, I expect it still is a nice revolver, just not mine anymore so that doesn't count. :) . There's something about the blued steel though that the stainless just doesn't have - extra soul maybe?

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I finally got around to downloading a pic I snapped while out hauling food around Friday. Taken just North of the dome - and as I was turning left to avoid the blocked street ahead. (Note my GPS telling me to go right a block further up at Broadway). Every year they host a marching band competition in the dome and this was the weekend apparently. It's not a great pic but you can definitely make out the band members heading in the door. What's less obvious is the hundreds of kids moving toward the dome, all in uniform, some in formation. It was a quite impressive sight for an old marching band member like myself, and I immediately thought of @PLAla . Maybe his kids can come compete next year and block traffic for me again!

Gongrats! Most beautiful creatures they are.
Not a hunter here, but nowadays the only pheasants seen in these parts are those stocked by the game commission. Many are killed on the road. They lack the instincts and could be classified as yardbirds.
Shame we can't get geese to leave.

Awesome! I bet that is one of the Bands of America Regional sites. They hold regional contests around the country and the top bands advance to the finals in Indianapolis in a couple of weeks. Much more intricate and involved shows that what we do. Thanks for sharing, Neal!

I had a blued 4 inch 586 that I really liked. My was stolen like Brian's. I do like the blued pistols and revolvers better but the heat and humid here just destroy them if carried on a regular basis.

this particular 57 ranchero is an original build from decades ago. i didn t build it , but saved and cleaned it up from an estate sale.i have no intention of changing it as i have unbuilt kits. i intend to use the 54 superspeed after OCtober is over.the cigar box was purchased at an antique shop many years ago as i like to store stuff in them.i like to reuse most things cool and vintage..

    TSS/Ginger's Garden Acqua di Florida
    The King 28mm badger brush
Gillette NEW LC & bar handle
7th (?) use on a Rapira PL blade
    Osage Rub, M&L Florida Water
SOTD 10282018.gif Flash back to Summer temps, or at least early Fall here on the South Coast. The Florida Water spoke to me, so it happened. Getting close to the end of the month so my Badger Face Lathering Focus is about over. Very few matched what I can stir up in a bowl. If I was the spreadsheet retrospective type I'd go look to see which was best. Instead I'l be dusting of the Suribachis and enjoying that more consistent yogurty wet I prefer. I'll probably try a boar knot face lather in the near future just to be contrary. Got one last not quite acceptable shave from the not quite Sharp Star blade. Seven total if my count is correct so between good steel and correct technique these Platinum Lux blades are decent. Three passes, a little fiddling touch up, no blood, and I'm happy. Splashed on the Rub followed by high alcohol Cologne for a scent matched finish.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
