Didn't get the snow last night. Wind is picking up right now and I guess we are in for 3-4 inches tonight and tomorrow. On the upside it is supposed to be in the 50's Fri, Sat, and Sunday.
Early day at work. So home drinking beer. About to make beef jerky. Got a letter from the IRS that I owe them an assload of money? I just paid them 7k last month. My buddy that works for the IRS says I cant win. I think I can though since bleeding turnips isnt that easy anymore. BTW: trying to decide how to price jerky and stumbled upon ebay.......oh hell! This guy puts this in his description. WONDERING HOW IT'S MADE??? I first start with Bottom Round cut 1/8inch thick and buy this meat from my local store Publix. There good to me and slice it for me. I bring it home and CURE and SEASON this (In my own seasons) and let it marinate for 12 hours at least! I wake up EARLY and start drying this meat, so it can cool and ship SAME DAY it's dried!! I can promise you my house is clean and I will NEVER cut corners on making this product for you. I will ALWAYS use CLEAN trays, counters, mixing bowls and wear gloves while I package this up!! Just letting ya know - This is meat from a store, not a animal living in my yard! I can promise you that this will ALWAYS be fresh!! Please allow me 3days to ship this as I do make it as you order it!! Thanks I am so glad that it isnt from animals found in the yard!
Hey everyone, what's up? Just got back from an antique store...updated my Old, New, New Improved thread with some pics....also found a Razorette...started a thread on that with a pic...
Sorry about the IRS. I make my jerky with animals found in the street. 1/8" seems thin, but maybe that just makes it dry faster...
Sorry about the IRS, too, Shawn. FIGHT THE POWER!!! STAND UP TO THE MAN!!! roadkill jerky...nom nom nom There used to be a biker clothing store around that sold roadkill in a can... :sick007
I would post the link but dont want to offend any of his neigbors:happy102 1/8" is ok b/c it appears to be an assload of jerky. But I prefer 1/4" personally. BTW...IRS will have fun this time around since I have no assets and my GF and I arent married. I have a car and a bunch of shaving stuff?
I actually kind of wonder about the legality of selling this home made jerky commercially over ebay or the internet or whatever. I'm not sure, but I would bet this violates some health codes. That guy could be setting himself up for a hit.
Yep, Its pretty much illegal but there is alot of it on there. Its one of those weird things like you cant sell wild game meat? or at least tax it. Or sell it on the roadside. Hell, I worked for a store doing a fundraisers and we couldnt sell hotdogs Code enforcement + health codes? Roadside seafood sellers on the coast? hmmmmmm? Damn cheap though! What the hell is the world coming to?
:happy102 Some people put up the weirdest descriptions on ebay my dad bought about 15 lbs of beef jerky 5 years ago on ebay, that was fun. I just got back to the gym and I'm now up to 5 University At Buffalo hoodies along with 4 pairs of UB sweat pants. I think I like this place too much.
Shawn, I need a couple pounds of jerky. I love this stuff!! Matter of fact, let me shoot you a Pm........... The rest of you can go suck eggs..............
So, are you suggesting that I go and suck on a hard piece of meat? That is just wrong, Tracy. WRONG!!
There really isn't much going on in my head, that is truly the best I could do:happy102 I was wondering if you would think that
