It was the turn of Micromatic Flying Wing / bullet tip today with a Gem PTFE blade on its fourth shave. The combination is amazingly smooth and efficient. I had one of the best shaves ever with Williams Mug shave soap lather ! This has taken second place in my SE razor rotation displacing the Micromatic Clog-Pruf. The first remains the awesome Micromatic open comb razor !

Post: Witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave

Enjoyable shave with the Black Hawk this morning. Took almost two days of growth with ease and comfort. Nice way to begin the work week. Have a great day!

It is rather nice to get a super Shave when not quite expecting it. I had not used the soap for a while, but the lather was really good. With the S/S Handle the little Hawk is very effective, and not only was the Shave smooth , but IMHO the finish was better than the one yesterday with the Alu. General.

 

Menthol Monday's Shave

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Ingram Shaving Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #270 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Ever-Ready 1924 Razor with a Gem Blue Star CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Lather Catcher Monday is totally a thing, right?
Even if it isn't, I propose we make it a day of celebration!
Another great shave in the books, and time to get tomorrow's shave ready!

MONDAY’S SHAVE

Razor: Star 1887
Blade: Kampfe Bros wedge
Brush: Rubberset
Soap: Palmolive stick
AS: VIBR

I was able to trim down the sides of the 3 minty blades. I honed one up. I loaded the blade and adjusted it to where I thought it should be.

I proceeded with the shave. Very close shave. I was off on my setting. It was very aggressive. I did all 3 passes and will dial it back the next time around.

This is a fantastic wedge lather catcher. I love the fact that you can dial it in to your liking.

The old blade took a keen edge no problem. Only time will tell how it will hold an edge.
