    Tuesday morning November 6

    IMG_20181106_095026_kindlephoto-1027291714.jpg

    Gillette Slim on #4 / Nacet (6)
    Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic
Renaissance Faire style horn quaich lather bowl
    Stirling Vanilla Bean Espresso soap
Alum and Stirling Vanilla Bean Espresso splash

Today marked the first use of another recently acquired Stirling soap and splash set, this one a rather nice coffee scent. Perfect for helping me wake up on those difficult mornings. The vanilla mutes the coffee aroma somewhat so it isn't quite as overpoweringly "in your face" as my other two coffee scents, Uulaa and Soapy Bathman's Cup of Joe. The Cup of Joe balm in particular leaves me smelling like I spilled an urn full of coffee grounds on myself, which is fine some days but can be a bit much on others. This one is a bit subtler.

The Soap Destroyer whipped up gobs of lather endowed with the usual fine Stirling performance. Two passes with the Nacet in the Gillette adjustable left me BBS with quiet alum.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

    NOvember 6th
    Supply Injector / Vintage PAL
    Jeeves Apothecary SS
    Omega Boar / Walnut
    Thayers
    Vintage Avon Spicy
    IMG_0761.jpg
For 'No Repeat November' out came this quality Jeeves soap and vintage Splash in a Greyhound Bus.
Last day with the Supply loaner- used the 3 dot baseplate and went with a full 3 pass shave. I am completely smooth, but pretty raw. I pulled out the alum as an irritation test and had some sting on my neck. After 5 days of the Supply, I'd say that -for me- the 2 dot plate is a fine, smooth shaver that requires 3 full passes to get to a level of results I am comfortable with for shirt and tie. 2 passes with it isn't enough, imho. The 3 dot is a more aggressive plate and 2 passes is sufficient. 3 passes with it has terrific results, but is overkill. I'll use the Injectomatic tomorrow for a comparison.
Thanks again to @Screwtape for the opportunity to try a modern injector and to try two Gillette TTOs (Aristocrat and Red Tip) I hadn't used before. The Supply and Aristocrat will be heading back to John shortly, but won't be joined by the Red Tip...
    Have a great day all!

Great looking combo and a good write up, John. Is that leather razor cover a custom job? Looks pretty nice.
A very cool 'Rick Pic' and very informative soap info, Rick. Love the look of all those modern 400 clones.
Very nice, Keith. Is that Rooney a vintage? It kind of has that look.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the brush, Neal. Losing that bet would have sucked doubly if you didn't even want to use it...
Love the green accent colours in the photo, Jim. That's another one for the calendar.
Another beaut, Clint. That brush is getting quite a run, you must be really enjoying it.
I'm intrigued by vintage Brut after hearing @Primotenore speak so highly of it. Sounds like a winning combo, Jim!
    Fantastic looking combo, Perry!
@Pete123 has made a quality soap, no question. It does exceptionally well in a bowl as well. It is a top tier product, imho.

November 6, 2018- NOthing But Techs

    Razor: W2 Gillette Tech/Fat Handle
    Blade: 7 o'Clock Permasharp Stainless (2)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Soap: Stirling Sheep
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Today is the second of the three razors that I teased the other day- a Nickel W2 Tech. This one is a bit of a puzzle. The head seems virtually unused but it came with a chipped plastic handle in a somewhat battered box. TBH, I mostly bought it for the fact that it also came with a totally anachronistic blade case that I wanted for a Khaki set. Obviously, this setup is a bit of a mismatch since this was a Korean War-era razor and came with the plastic handle because of a shortage of Brass.

One big difference from my previous shaves this month, the soap. I've been reading your reports where you extoll the virtues of Stirling soaps, so I finally decided to order samples of two unscented soaps- "Naked And Smooth" and "Sheep". For today's shave, I decided to go with the Sheep. I can see why you all like this soap- soft, easy to lather, and plenty of slickness. Did I detect a slight Williams-like scent? I'm curious... How does it compare to the mutton standard, MWF?

Not a lot else to say other than it was another great shave.

Great pics, Randy. Is your rule that all your soaps need to fit in that neat cabinet? One out = one in?
Nice combo, Joseph. Agree on the Semogue handle. I like it, but find it a little small as well.
Aonther great 400 version today...I must have missed the memo:(
Yup, definitely loving those razor covers. Do you have them for each of the Adjustables, or do you reuse the same one?
