My sister's cat(who I will get again for the winter), scratches the sliding glass closet door in the hallway at about 1 AM, trying to tell me "dinner wasn't enough, I need a snack". I love the company and the "pet therapy"(I still miss my Mom, and it's tough with the holidays), but it would be nice if she let me finish my sleep.

Thank you, Bruce! I got this brush in a PIF from @clint64. Maybe he can jump in and provide some more info on the knot. It's a badger knot but I don't know anything more other than I'm glad to have it and it works really well.

    Thank you, John!

    Nice report, Joseph.
This time of year I leave for work before sunrise and return after sunset. I've been taking my SOTD photos on the weekend to take advantage of the natural light.
We don't have grandkids, we have grand dogs. They spend most weekends with us, they are a blast to have around. The house seems empty when their not there.[IMG]

I have two Kronas that are sad and lonely from lack of use :sad024:. They are fine razors and look so cool. But sadly never get the call.
    Excellent shave Perry!
Cool photo, Jim! Nice BT getting some love!
Stunning shot Jim! Where did your bowl come from?
    Very nice, Charlie!
I sure hope some of my good photos turn out as well as your "crappy" ones ... Buck looks happy!

Thanks, Bruce. Clementine is on the left, Linus on the right. Linus is grandpas boy. No matter where I'm at or what I'm doing he's along side.

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Blackland Dart
    Muhle R41
    Rapira Platinum Lux(3)
    Hardright Anchorset (24mm, Frigate class)
    Soap Commander Refreshment
    Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill PSB

In left corner we have the undisputed champion, the infamous, the iconic, the Muhle R41. In the right corner we have the heavyweight contender, the deceiver, the Blackland dart! Their arena for today's match is the super slick Soap Commander Refreshment.

    Round 1 : Ding ding

The Dart comes out swinging using its weight advantage to press the advantage and has the R41 backpedaling to the corner. Its all the R41 can do to keep its guard up

    Round 2: Ding Ding

The Champion come out cautiously looking for an opening but the Contender gives him none. The Dart lands a heavy left hook and a right cross and staggers the Champion

    Round 3: Ding Ding

The Champion come out with a heavy assault trying to regain some ground but his attempts are buffeted away and with a stealthy jab-jab-cross counter the Champion falls

The Referee calls the match, we have a new champion!! The Blackland Dart is victorious!!

Throughout the shave it was clear that the Dart was both more aggressive and efficient then the R41. There was nothing really left for the Dart to do on the third pass whereas the R41 needed the third pass to pull off the BBS finish. We will have a rematch next shave to see if the R41 can benefit from some fine tuning of the angle. First use of a Soap Commander soap and I was really pleased with the lather! Shiny, creamy, slick! The scent was awesome too, nice and strong! Have a great Wednesday my friends!

    Hump day!!!

A hectic morning for me despite feeling under the weather. As a result, no shave today.

I should be back tomorrow with another pre-War Fat Handle Tech. Next up after that is one of two that I'm somewhat dreading.

    Hump Day!!!
Declan looks great, Andrew! Thanks for sharing.

Fun report! I've been wondering if my technique has progressed enough to pull off a shave with the vaunted R41. Makes me feel good about where I'm at that I'm shaving daily with a razor you find more aggressive/efficient.

Thanks Jim! Compared to the Dart the 2013 R41 is a pussycat!

Hump day! Wonderful report and photos, Andrew! I can't contribute to any discussion on those razors since I've never tried them, so I'll ask how is the Refreshment scent from Soap Commander? I have a well-honed and built in scent of sweet tea given that I live in the South.

Razor: Gillette Red Tip w/ case
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum
Brush: Elite Razor Tres Amigos Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Sunrise Synthetic
    Soap: Reef Point Soaps Tranquility
    A/S: Myrsol F/Extra
    Bowl: @twhite 3-D printer bowl

Outstanding shave today. The Sunrise Synthetic is a great knot. The Tranquility had no choice but to whip into an excellent lather.
