Pulled out the PAL today to compare with the Supply Injector I've used for the last 5 shaves. Did a full 3 pass shave with the Artist Formerly Known as Meatgrinder, which I would not usually do, but darn it this is Science!
Last shave at home for a few days, so I mapped out some favourites for NoRepeatVember. Love this soap and love this splash. Awesome combo.
As for the comparison, the first thing that struck me after a week of the Supply is how light an Injectomatic (or a Schick for that matter) is in comparison. Seems almost cheap to hold, but an all metal heavy modern razor vs a plastic handled razor for the masses probably isn't a fair comparison for weight or feel. The PAL delivered a nice shave. I used alum, as I had used it after 2 and then 3 passes with the Supply as well. Got the same level of tingle on my neck as I got with the Supply. Overall, I'd say the PAL is very similar in terms of results to the Supply with the aggressive 3 dot plate. I wouldn't say the 'Meatgrinder' is more aggressive than that most aggressive Supply setting. The combo of weight and baseplate make the Supply a smoother, just as aggressive version of the Injectomatic.
I'm heading out of town this afternoon for a few days of meetings and will be posting hotel shaves when I can.
    Have a great day all!
  6. Thank you Perry.

Thanks Andrew. Buck is happy...and obnoxious and stubborn...
    It's a conspiracy.
You broke out my favorite Douglas. Very nice.
  7. Excellent photo Jason! Have a safe trip!
  8. Thanks gentlemen! I hope you both are having a great day!

John, we need to be careful not to discuss Envy White knots too extensively. As a few of us have discovered, it's a terrific knot sold at a great price. It would be a shame to tempt anyone. They don't know what they're missing, and ignorance is bliss (@BaylorGator is a glowing example of this phenomena.) Knowing and then not having is akin to torture, constant worry, mild depression, general discontent, and possibly a host of other physical symptoms. At that point, spending fifty bucks for a knot would be a wise investment and much cheaper than going to a doctor, but why open this ugly can of worms? ;)

  11. Nice photo and report, Jason! Glad to hear the PAL and Supply are similar. I didn't get along too well with either, so I can be content with not seeking those out as den additions! I also need to get out the sample of Maximo Gomez soon.

  13. I'm going to sell some soaps soon. Hopefully I'm not violating any forum rules by giving y'all a heads up.

    Stirling The Lounge soap
Stirling Sharp Dressed Man soap and splash
    Reef Point Classic Barbershop soap
    Fine American Blend soap
    Fine Lavender soap and splash

I just have too many soaps and gear and need to clear some out and raise a little cash for a pre-Thanksgiving vacation. Let me know if you're interested in any of that via PM.
