The Dart is a relativity new razor to the market and this was my first use of the R41. To me the Dart is more aggressive.

Blade presence on the Dart is very pronounced. Combined with the ridged nature in which it clamps the blade and it feels very unforgiving.

Thanks! I found it on the BST here (I think). Or was it somewhere else?

Round two of the showdown between the Blackland Dart and the Muhle R41. I gave the R41 a little bit of a steeper angle and it was able to match the Dart in efficiency today. Blade feel was very similar. I think once you get to a certain point with positive blade exposure all you feel is the naked unguarded edge of the blade on your skin. This is a great reminder to keep the pressure off and just let the sharpness of the blade do the work. When you are truly able to shave with no pressure both razors feel less harsh. Three passes was overkill but I did them anyway because I was enjoying the scent and slickness of MLSW Pantie Dropper so much.

I've always been intrigued by the R41 but, frankly, I'm afraid to get one.

I think you should get one. It’s a great razor. The razor will feel a little harsh at first but once you get the angle right it’s a nice shave.. BUT it will bite easier than most.

Lol I would caution how you throw that around. It not a razor just to get throw a blade in and have at it , my friend.. it’s not super speed or PAA DoC mild. It takes awhile to get the feel for it and shave with it.. but to each their own. My experience dictates otherwise and it could be your experience says another thing.

Awesome shave. I forget how smooth and mild this razor is. It looks and shaves great. The brush for being old and original knot is almost as good as my semogue 830. Awesome

Make no mistake it is a very aggressive razor. Be mindful of angle and pressure and you wont have any problems. The good thing about hyper-aggressive razors like the Dart and the R41 is that they will correct any deficiencies in technique rather quickly.

Well look at you. You are sounding just like the rest of these old timers.. lol it wasn’t that long ago when we were the ones trying to figure it out and hearing all this shaving rhetoric about pressure, technique .

Thanks! Though I'm not sure i like being called an old timer! After I'm done with these aggressive razor comparisons I think I'm going to start a passarround with the Dart, you should give it a try!
