Here are a few more photo from my road trip. First is one from Joshua Tree National Park (lots of rocks and ugly trees) in Southern California the others are from Arches National Park in Utah. On my way to Ithaca, New York and then on to Maine. Today however, I'm attending the wet shaving event at Maggard's Razors in Adrian, Michigan. Lots of vendors and about 200 wet shavers will be there.
I was sitting on my front deck yesterday afternoon sipping a bourbon when I suddenly heard slurping sounds. Found a visitor getting her afternoon drink as well. I went in got the camera as she continued to drink from the fish pond. I was only about 4 feet away when I took the photo. She wasn't concerned at all. I have to add water to the pond every other week. Living in the woods I'm sure just about every critter comes and drinks. Its the only water to be found this time of year.
Agreed. Day games too! Also, the food of Nepal, cooked by native born Nepalese, right here on my prairie.
Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but this guy has been right beside me all day, as I try to nurse my horrible back pain. (I will be ok on Tuesday, going to get a cortisone shot.)
The loyalty and companionship of a dog is truly a special bond. Actually, I see unconditional love in the eyes of dogs. People, not so much.
It was said to me, you can often tell the quality of a person by the way that a dog reacts to them. This is something that I have found to be true.
It’s ALWAYS the right thread to post pictures of dogs, especially Cocker Spaniels...Cockers are the best!! This is Scout, also taken at CSB, Florida.
That photo was from this past summer... Scout just had surgery two weeks ago to remove tissue that had grown around her spine that was causing nerve issues mimicking paralysis. She’s recovering nicely though! She’ll be her usual merry self in no time. She’s been the “million dollar puppy”... she’s only 7 but has already had ACL surgery on her back left leg... we fully expect to have to do her right leg at some point in the (hopefully very distant) future.
It was a scary day when Bentley went in for his surgery. He had 3 fatty tumors removed. 2 on his haunches, and one on his neck. They had him in a cone, while it was a very serious operation, it was funny watching him walk.
