    Schick & a Chick
    Barbasol P.R.AS
SOTD 11132018.gif An easy lather from an Indian soap in production since 1938. The injector did what they do best - a fairly mindless shave. Three plus passes, little sting from the AS, and on to what's left of the day.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

    Nice shave Charlie.
I'm really pleased for you! You are showing real consistency and determination, and it's paying off big time :)
    Keep it up!

Cool looking razor! What model is that?
I have read some really good things about the Indian Godrej soaps/creams. I believe they contain lanolin!

The injector is a G-8, unless I'm mistaken. The ridges on the handle give positive grip.

Steve @Vlasta sent the soap my way from Hong Kong. It's a dense, hard soap in a small plastic tub. No frills to the packaging, but the lather is top notch. Without doing a direct comparison, I'd say it's similar to Palmolive shave stick's lather. Mild inoffensive scent that's slightly soapy and described as lavender by several reviews.

The ingredients list is short; Potassium Palmate, Potassium Stearate, Potassium Cocoate, Glycerine, Titanium Dioxide, Perfume.

I have found glycerine treats me well. Didn't notice any drying face feel reported by others who preferred their creams over the "rounds". From my reading Godrej is better know for their shave creams.

Godrej is one of those high end expensive unicorn soaps... not. It is ¢31 per round - yes THIRTY ONE CENTS.

The handle definitely looks like it sticks!

I'm spitting my dummy out with Palmolive at the moment... I'm not preachy or trying to take moral high ground (not here to argue about politics/ethics after all), but my wife mentioned about Lush not using African Palm Oil (Elaeis guineensis) because of the deforestation occurring to procure it. I am just trying to be conscious of using products that contain ingredients that have been ethically sourced. I am certainly not about to judge anyone for what they use... YMMV!

Well, it's after midnight and I'm sitting down to eat. The randomizer handed me the Feather SS with the Kai Sharpblade for the shave tonight. Guess what? There will be no shave tonight. I'm tired, it's late and I'm not going to rush a pain stick shave with that blade. We'll just set up a two day beard for it tomorrow night. Have a great night and a better tomorrow!

As always, Neal, you are an example to us all. Superb demonstration of the basic rules for SR / shavette shaving - if you are tired, rushed, or lacking in focus and concentration for any other reason put down the razor and step away. Tomorrow is another day as long as you don't accidentally slice your throat today...

Wonderful report, Charlie! Nice shave, of course, but the weight loss is fantastic! And a real inspiration for the rest of us in the new Health Club. I like your approach of going slow, taking things a day at a time, and not worrying if you backslide occasionally as long as it's a brief relapse.

I weighed myself tonight and found I am now down to 164.8 lbs from the 182 I was at this summer -- which was actually down itself from last year's 190+. (I believe my ideal long term weight is probably somewhere around 150). I have shed 17 lbs since July just by cutting out candy and (real) cookies, heavily sugared drinks, and switching to low sugar cereals or oatmeal in the mornings. I have backslid a couple times this week with fattening Hershey's Hot Chocolate from Tim Hortons but will follow your good example and just get back on the horse without making a big deal of the momentary lapse...

    I take a short trip and I am 290 posts behind.... :scared007:

No time for my usual posting. I am holding steady with no repeat for the razors and brush but I keep working on this puck of Crowne and Crane.

Doing good Thanks. Been a rough busy summer and fall, took on a failed restoration project from another guys shop and I'm still at it whilst trying to set up a new body shop again. Also moved to another house , which was insane during the heat we were having plus the repairs I had to tackle at new place. Slowed down a bit now so have more time to get back on here when I can. How's things with you?

Thanks John, and congratulations to you as well. Reducing your weight by 30 lbs since last year is a wonderful accomplishment, and I have no doubt you'll reach your target weight. Making commonsense changes in diet has a significant impact over time. No worries about the Tim Hortons treats this week. I hope you enjoyed them! My weakness is ice cream, and I have it two or three times a week in moderation. On a recent vacation, I ate a bowl of ice cream most every day. :)

    Keep going!
