    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I would say your theory has merit. By allowing the blade to focus on what it's supposed to do instead of being "dragged along" it is definitely conceivable that you're adding shaves to its life.

I'd be over the moon to avoid the fighting! Not cut from the same cloth as the men that came before! A different league of gentlemen entirely!

FYI, Grooming Dept has put up a limited release of his Lusso based soap (Chypre Verte), which will not last long (hours not days). It is a bit pricey at $26, but I think this soap base is about as good as it gets. If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, you'd better act fast.

I can certainly understand that and why it would impact your future purchases. My question is, if you've already paid for it and have it on hand why not use it? Also FWIW the Wilkinson Sword shave stick has no Palm oil.

I suppose using it up would, at this point, be of no detriment. I appreciate you pointing that out! I am really excited to get hold of this soap (shared previously).

Thank you for sharing your Grandfather's story, Jason. What an incredible and courageous man he must have been, and I'm sure your story only scratches the surface. Truly, men like him were part of the Greatest Generation and could certainly teach us all a few things.

Many years ago, we stayed with a family in Linwood, Ontario on a farm vacation. They were a really sweet family, and the father had served in the Canadian military during WWII. He met his wife in London during the war. She was a young girl from Austria working there as a cook. After the war, they came home to Canada to live and work on the family's dairy farm. I just wonder how many families across the world had similar beginnings.

Thank you, Jason! I would like some other injectors with the fun handles - particularly some of the K models with the gold flecks in the handles. But yes, I picked that razor to go with the graphics of the software!

I love hearing the stories guys, so I'll chime in. My grandfather was a pilot and flew out of South Florida for the merchant marines (i.e. private pilots with military missions). He ran a regular route from South Florida to pick up rubber in Brazil and transport it to the forces in Africa. They had to run dark under radio silence and all navigation was done by the stars. A huge amount of merchant marine pilots and boat captains didn't survive that duty as there were a fleet of german subs off of South Florida (and much of the East Coast of the US) that would shoot down planes and sink seagoing vessels just off the coast. (In fact there are many local stories about officers who snuck onto Palm Beach from the subs and pose as foreign businessmen to get off the sub and have a beer.) Anyway, at the risk of his life one night, he broke radio silence to call in the position of a sub that had surfaced. Found out later that it had been scuttled just off our coast. Anyway, having grown up in the family dairy, he started the ice cream company when the war ended, and the rest is history.

My other grandfather ran a gas station in town and worked weekends as a hunting guide. He was completely blind in one eye and legally blind (but could still see) in the other, but the armed forces would not take him. He protested as he was one of the best hunters and shooters in South Florida, but they deemed him unfit for service because of his eyesight. He was often ostracized for staying and running his business during the war, however, like Neal's Dad, he wanted to fight and the criticism was misplaced. I remember him telling me stories about everyone in town putting having "blackout curtains" every evening so as to not make their homes an easy target for the German subs offshore. They never attacked, but were always a threat lurking just offshore.

Thanks Andrew. Kudos to Colgate Palmolive. I can say from working in the chemical industry for many years that leading global companies are becoming increasingly more focused on sustainability. No large organization is perfect, but most are committed to continual improvement. This is not just glitzy sales talk. This is how these companies really do business, and their work processes are continually audited and verified by third parties including their customers. @jtface due to my advanced age, I've been personally involved in ~100 or more of these kinds of audits over the years. :)
