Thanks! As we hit the halfway point for both the month and the collection tomorrow, I feel obligated to advise everyone that I'm running out of particularly interesting Techs. I should be good for next week, but the post-Thanksgiving ones may get a bit uninspired... except for one shave which is about a "Hold my Coke!" on the MayHEM scale.

A double double, double the razors and double the cuteness.

I also find the Ikon Tech to be ‘rough’. I strongly prefer my 2011 R41 and Joris to the Tech. It just feels like the blade is flexing a lot.

Hotel shave this morning, and it was smooth. It is going to be a long day, I am on the flight back to Houston, and then I have to drive two hours. I hope everyone has had a great day! Definitely some great pictures posted today.

    November 14

    Razor - Feather SS
    Blade - kai-captain-sharp-blades.jpg
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush - VDH Boar
Post - Alum, TSD Bay Rum Splash

I'm back for the shave. After skipping last night due to the late hour and my fatigue, I was ready to tackle the pain stick tonight. The gods chose the Feather SS with the Kai Sharpblade, which is basically the Kai version of the Feather Super Pro. They also ordained the Fat - which was a winner of a setup in the making. Then they gave me the VDH boar brush. No worries. The one I use is very well broken in, soft and able to make a fine lather. I use it for head shaves every week.

It's been a bit since I've used a pain stick on my face and also a bit since I fired up the Mitchell's. I was instantly reminded why it is still my top soap. I let it soak in its dish for about an hour before the shave just to help soften that concrete block of a brand new puck. Then, I soaked the brush for a good half hour, shook it nearly dry and attacked the puck. Holy cow......holy sheep....holy something.....I got lather pouring out of the dish, running on the counter, and most importantly loading up the brush. I had forgotten how slick the Fat is. Yeah, I've missed it.

Two passes with the SS and a short clean up run ATG on my neck to finish and I have a decent enough DFS. The Kai Sharpblade presents more exposure than the regular Captain or the Feather Pro so it's a bit more wicked to work with. I took my time, worked angles and kept everything in line and the alum stayed quiet except for one spot - where I had found a spot of blood. I got the tip down a bit faster than the rest of the blade on my neck at one point. That's all it takes for the pain stick to bite.

Fun shave and it reminded me of how much I need to spend time with Mitchell's as well as the pain sticks. I miss them more than I realized.

Snowing here with a prediction of 5-7 inches by tomorrow. I'm a bit skeptical but I'm off tomorrow so really don't care. I can sit back and enjoy. Have a great night and a better tomorrow!

    Wednesday shave.
Laugh or cringe but I just opened my 2nd puck of Williams this year for this shave.
