I decided to change things up and bring out the brass General for comparison to the OREN. As expected the WDC-8 made short work lathering the Proraso Cypress & Vetyver. The General certainly has more blade feel that the OREN and is the more aggressive razor. Some of this is due to head geometry and some is simply due to the weight of the razors. The General requires more attention with the Super blade than the OREN. Three passes and touch ups ended in an Epic shave. I can see why the General is one of my favorite razors. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Beautiful photo, Jim! I've always been intrigued by the Leviathan scent. Never smelled it or tried it but the description is quite intriguing.

Nice report, Charlie! We had snow flurries this morning with no impact, but it's certainly bizarre to have any type of winter weather this early in the year.

    Thanks, Perry!
When I first opened the tub I wasn't sure what to think of it. The more I smelled it the more I liked it. I also pick up a smokiness to it. My wife said she didn't get that at all.

Next up in the No Repeat rotation- one of my favourite razors. The SC isn’t very shabby either, and I whipped up a great lather. 3 passes later and I am completely smooth. This razor is definitely coming out again for Decadent December.
    Have a great day all!

A whole bunch of great shaves, good reports and epic photos since last night, gentlemen,

Perry @PLAla, thanks for the commentary about the new Nivea shave stick. I had no idea one was out. I will have to keep an eye out for it on the drugstore shelves around here. Also, I like that PAL injector in your photo. The lines of their non-adjustable stainless razor have always seemed like an artistic sculpture to me. One razor still on my list to get...

Thank you guys. @PLAla I am so ready for Friday afternoon. We have had a lot of rain but thankfully no snow flurries. Just a hint of snow will make driving here insane.

I am fairly sure my shave set-ups are becoming rather boring to my dear readers.
One would think that Mystic Water soap would not have the longevity as other soaps, because it is
very soft and malleable when new. This is not proving to be the case. :signs002:
I literally loaded today for about a minute. Some call this building the lather on the puck.
I call it loading it like it's your last shave.
Whatever your terminology, the results are the same. Loads of fragrant, slick, protective lather.
Another revelation is this Feather SS blade...:shocked029: I posted my theory yesterday regarding my new-found
blade longevity. I won't repeat it, because apparently Chris @Bama Samurai has patented said theory.
Today is at least the 7th shave with this blade and that, for me, is a new record.
I have to say that (I guess this is my newest "theory") most new and not-so-new shavers
do NOT use the correct angle. They are scrapers. I was a scraper for a LONG time.
I am now a "former" scraper. You my call me Sir Slice-a-Lot. :kar:
I may never change this blade again! :happy097:
The Gillette Parat is almost identical to the Super-Speeds of the 50's.
It's a utilitarian razor; no bells or whistles; just gets the job done.
Today it "got er done" in three passes for a DFS (I am pretty much over "chasing the baby")
What's the point? A couple of hours of just a bit smoother? Indeed, without effort, I get a BBS
on my jaw line, cheeks and upper neck. Only on a very small portion of my lower neck does the hair grow
so parallel to the skin, that it is too challenging to get the baby there.
After two+ days without shaving, it can be done, but the fact is, I like to shave daily.
Finished with, but did not finish, the Thayer's.
Followed up with one of my vintage Old Spice juices: Musk.
