Sounds like you are best served either by a boar brush or by the Semogue badger-boar mix. If I remember rightly, you have one of those Mistura brushes, don't you?

Friday evening November 16 - back on track with a roadmap again...

JR #320 mahogany handle with APShaveCo SynBad knot
Renaissance Faire style horn quaich lather bowl
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
Alum and Jeeves Mountain Rain splash

I spent awhile yesterday going back through my posts and writing down what I used, so now I can continue with No Repeat without confusion. I am starting on my second round with my brushes (I have eleven in regular rotation) and have repeated postshave products a couple times, but can now do razors, soaps and splashes/balms to month end without any further duplications.

Today was one of several Old Types. My usual two passes brought me my usual DFS+ with less squawk from the alum than I got from yesterday's Blue Tip. I can only conclude that I treated the Old Type with more respect - or the Blue Tip with too little.

Jeeves makes great splashes and today's finished the shave in fine form. I have three sets of Jeeves soaps and splashes with Mountain Rain as the "splash only" odd man out. I think I will make the next three days Jeeves shaves now that I have started today with the splash.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I do have and like that brush, and I actually like a pretty wide variety of knots, John. My favorite brushes are two band badgers, which make up the majority of my collection. Its not that I don’t like synthetics; they’re just a bit too soft and fluffy to serve as my everyday drivers. I still have a few for variety though.

Agree 100% on the Jeeves splashes, John. Pretty much love his soap base as well. Besides Tobacco/Bay, I'd be hard pressed to say that any JOHS scents are in my top choices, but the quality of his software vaults them into the top tier for me.
