November 18, 2016- NOthing But Techs
Razor: L4 (4Q66) Gillette Tech
Blade: 7 o'Clock Permasharp Stainless (1)
Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
Soap: Stirling Sheep
Post: Alum, Listerine, WH
For today's shave, I went with a Tech from the 4th quarter of 1966. This particular one was my first "Vietnam-era" Tech and was intended to fill a gaping hole between my post-War Techs and "modern" Sterling Tech. It came with what seems to be an Aluminum handle which I assume is original. As a result, it is a light razor, almost as light as the post-War British Aluminium one I have, but more head heavy since the cap and baseplate are likely Zamac.

In honor of the recent brush discussions, I have brought out my 30DC LE brush for today's shave. The knot I installed is a Pure Badger from Virginia Sheng. It is my second ever badger brush, the first being a very cheap Chinese one which is so floppy that I wonder if it wasn't actually made of cat hair. Lastly, the Stirling Sheep is baaaack for today's shave.
All in all a great shave. I had a bit of trouble with lather as I hadn't used the Sheep with a Badger before, but nothing serious. I kept a light touch despite the light razor and brought home the baby.
