Sunday noon November 18 Gillette Single Ring Old Type silverplated and undated (1921-29) / GSB (4) Semogue Owners Club cherrywood Tuxedo brush Jeeves Key Lime shave stick Jeeves Key Lime splash No shave yesterday so had a good stubble to anchor the soap as I rubbed my homemade shave stick over my damp face. The soap face lathered easily with the Tuxedo knot. And then the Old Type cleaned everything off back to a DFS in two easy passes. I didn't bother with the alum. The splash did sting a bit in a couple places before its soothing qualities kicked in. Hope you all have a blessed Sunday leading into an outstanding week!
This thread helped me make my software choices this morning. I still have not repeated a razor or software this NOvember. Great shave today. JOHS Blood on Steel Soap B-400 Brush by Tom Craftsman Razor Blood on Steel After Shave Have a blessed Sunday!
Never a bad time for a Scotty reference (or any Star Trek reference, for that matter). I will admit, though, that I was expecting more along the lines of old-timey prospectors or maybe pirates.
Something along the lines of "There's Gold in them thar hills"? (Or in this case, "Gills", since they're Gillette razors.)
Thanks, Jim. When I first joined the 30DC, I couldn't have shaved with an Old Type without weepers galore. Now they seem like a nice daily driver. TTT indeed!
I bought a DE89 shortly after my first shave with the Blackbird. I didn't do much better with that. I had three razors that I was rotating through daily. It wasn't until I joined up and did a rule that things started to click. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Rule - Shave #1 Schick G Personna PTFE (1st use) Bluebeard Doubloon (cheap little boar) Palmolive (Soap) Nivea Sensitive There was a little residual irritation from yesterday's artisan soap debacle. Aside from that, another near BBS shave with minimal effort (though there were a handful of tiny weepers that were the result of over shaving - they disappeared after the cold water rinse). The cheap little boar certainly does a good job with the Palmolive! Enjoy your shaves gents!
November 18, 2018 Cobra Classic Feather Pro Shavemac D01 3 Band MdC Fougere Myrsol Agua Balsamica Very early morning shave with a late afternoon post. The little Shavemac felt wonderful face lathering the MdC Fougere. I fully admit I am a Fougere junky. It was of my favorite scents and the MdC is an interesting take with its unique medicinal back ground scent. Three passes and touch ups easily caught the baby and should have been an epic shave. However, a operator induced weeper prevented an epic finish. A splash of Balsamica was the perfect end to a wonderful shave. I hope everyone had a great Sunday.
